5 years in prison in the present position and 15 years in absentia for the accused of burning a police station in Alexandria, a Military Court decides

Alexandria Military Criminal Court has sentenced 3 defendants to 5 years in prison, and 15 years in absentia for the other 4, in the Lawsuit number 272/2017. The defendants are charged with throwing Molotov cocktail at Fawzy Moaz police station, and possession of an unauthorized gun and ammo.

The military prosecution had referred the defendant for trial in November 2017, after it was reported in 26/1/2015 that unknown had thrown molotov cocktail at Fawzy Moaz police station in Hanovil, Alexandria. In April 2015 the national security investigation included 7 names. Three of the defendants, Alaa Al-Din Mohammed Al-Sayed, Ahmed Sade’ Mohamed and Mahmoud Sade’ Mohamed are already in prison for other crimes. Three other 4 absent defendants are Abd-Alrahman Mohamed Abd-Algawad, Mohamed Adel Mohamed, Mahmoud Ahmed Mahmoud, and Abd-Alrahman Magdy.

Military Criminal Court of Alexandia has decided to set the date for adjudication of 7 people accused of throwing molotov cocktail at Fawzy Moaz police station, and possession of an unauthorized gun and ammo, in the lawsuit number 212/2017 to the 13th of February.

The military prosecution had referred the defendant for trial in November 2017, after it was reported in 26/1/2015 that unknown had thrown molotov cocktail at Fawzy Moaz police station in Hanovil, Alexandria. In April 2015 the national security investigation included 7 names. Three of the defendants are already in prison for other crimes which are Alaa Al-Din Mohammed Al-Sayed, Ahmed Sade’ Mohamed and Mahmoud Sade’Mohamed. Three others had been released recently which are Abd-Alrahman Mohamed Abd-Algawad, Mohamed Adel Mohamed, and Mahmoud Ahmed Mahmoud, in addition to a runaway defendant Abd-Alrahman Magdy.
