Last week, The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release Mohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer under the guarantee of his place of residence and also to annul the precautionary measures imposed on him as an alternative to pretrial detention, in connection with Case No. 1956 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).
Mokhaimer’s precautionary measures were represented in handing the defendant himself over to the police station in his neighborhood for several hours, two days per week. in the mentioned case, Mokhaimer faced charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media, after his arrest in the first week of January 2020.

On February 13, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to renew the precautionary measures of Mohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer for 45 days in connection with Case No. 1956 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).
The precautionary measures imposed on Mokhaimer after the decision to replace his pretrial detention with one of the precautionary measures are to hand the defendant himself over to the police station of his residence for a certain number of hours weekly.
Mokhaimer faces charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.

Sunday, October 10, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to extend the detention of “Mohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer” and to extend the precautionary measures period of “Akram Mostafa Farouk,” “Mohammad Ahmed Mansour,” lawyer “Walid Elgendy” for 45 days.
The court decision came in connection with Case No. 1956 of 2019 (Supreme State Security). The four of them face charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.
It’s worth noting that Article (201) of Law No. 150 of 1950 of the Code of Criminal Procedure stipulates that “the authority concerned with pretrial detention may issue instead of it, an order with one of the following measures: compel the defendant not to leave his home or country, obligate the defendants to hand himself over to the police station at specific times, or banning the defendant from frequenting particular places, if the defendant violated the obligations imposed by the measure, he shall be remanded in pretrial detention.

The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court held at Institute of Police Secretaries had issued a decision to release both “Akram Mostafa Farouk” and “Mohammad Ahmed Mansour” with precautionary measures, and to extend the precautionary measures imposed on lawyer “Walid Elgendy” for 45 extra days, and to renew the detention of “Mohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer” for 45 extra days.
This came pending Case No. 1956 of 2019 Supreme State Security, The mentioned court held its session on Monday, September 6, 2021, in the presence of AFTE’s lawyer.
The prosecution charged them with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.

The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court considered the detention order of “Akram Mostafa Farouk, Mohammad Abd Ellah Mokhaimer, Mohammad Ahmed Mansour” and ordered to renew their detention for 45 extra days, and to release lawyer “Walid Elgendy”, and to extend the precautionary measures for “Ahmed Mohamed Ali” this came pending Case No. 1956 of 2019 Supreme State Security, The mentioned court considered the order to renew the defendant’s detention on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, in the presence of AFTE’s lawyer.
The prosecution charged them with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.

The Criminal Court decided, in the July 18 session, to renew the detention of Akram Mostafa Farouq, for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1956 of 2019, Supreme State Security.
Akram Mostafa Farouk, a sales representative, was arrested by the security forces in Alexandria on January 22 of 2020. He was charged with “joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.”
