The Zagazig Criminal Court refused the prosecution appeal on its decision to release Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout pending investigations in Case No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors), and decided to release him.
Al-Hout was arrested in 2014 when he was 24 years old, from the Zagazig University campus. After ten years in prison and being rotated in different cases with the same accusations, Al-Hout is now 34 years old; his detention is still under renewal instead of releasing him.
Al-Hout faces charges of joining a terrorist group and possessing publications that promote its ideas.

The prosecution appealed the decision of the Zagazig Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) to release Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout pending investigations in Case No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors).

14 March 2023: Zagazig Criminal Court renews Omar Al-Hout’s detention for 45 days
On March 14, Zagazig Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout for 45 days in connection with Case No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors).
Al-Hout was arrested when he was 24 years old, from the Zagazig University campus, and after nine years in prison and being rotated in different cases with the same accusations, Al-Hout is now 33 years old; his detention is still under renewal instead of releasing him.
Al-Hout faces charges of joining a terrorist group and possessing publications that promote its ideas.

On September 26, Zagazig Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout for 45 days in connection with Case No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors).
Security forces arrested Al-Hout on November 23, 2014, from a pharmacy he worked in Nasr City, against the backdrop of his student activity in Zagazig University although despite his cessation from any student or political activity a year and a half before his arrest, Al-Hout was listed into 6 different cases since his arrest took place, even after he had several releases order, his pretrial detention exceeded 8 years.

On August 16, Zagazig Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout for 45 days in connection with Case No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors).
Al-Hout has been behind the prison walls for eight years, since his arrest in 2014 against the background of his participation in a demonstration at Zagazig University. Since his arrest, Al-Hout has been included in seven different cases even after several decisions were issued to release him.

Today, Zagazig Criminal Court (Circuit Four) decided to renew the detention of Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout for 45 days in connection with Case No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors). The seventh case in which Al-Hout is charged in since his arrest in 2014.
Al-Hout was arrested against the backdrop of participating in a demonstration at Zagazig University; before he finished his studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy and he had to continue his studies inside the prison, and despite it has been eight years since his arrest, he’s still in pretrial detention on charges of joining a terrorist group and possessing publications that promote its ideas.

Today, Zagazig Criminal Court (Circuit Seven) decided to uphold the prosecution’s appeal against Omar Al-Hout’s release order that the Criminal Court issued yesterday. It also decided to renew his detention for 45 days pending investigations into lawsuit No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors).
Al-Hout was arrested in 2014, against the backdrop of participating in a demonstration at Zagazig University while studying at the Faculty of Pharmacy back then, after his arrest; he’s been involved in seven different lawsuits with the exact charges that included joining a terrorist group and possessing publications that promote its ideas.

Today, Zagazig Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to release Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout under the guarantee of his residence, pending investigations into lawsuit No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors). The prosecution decided to appeal his release order, the appeal will be examined tomorrow before the Criminal Court.
Al-Hout was arrested in 2014, and during his eight years of detention, he was subjected to a long series of violations, including being involved in seven different lawsuits even after his release orders were issued, against the backdrop of participating in a demonstration at Zagazig University while studying at the Faculty of Pharmacy back then. It should be noted that Al-Hout passed his last two academic years inside his prison cell.

Yesterday, Zagazig Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout for 45 days, in connection with his seventh lawsuit No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors).
Al-Hout was arrested in 2014, and he was subjected to a long series of violations, starting with being rotated into seven lawsuits with the exact charges, passing through the exceptional trial before the Emergency State Security Courts, and last intransigence in his release.

Yesterday, South Zagazig Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout for 15 days in connection with lawsuit No. No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors).
Al-Hout faces charges of Joining a terrorist group and possessing publications that promote its ideas. the same charges he has faced in various cases since his arrest in 2014.

South Zagazig Prosecution decided to detain Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout for 15 days pending investigations and to include him in connection with a new report No. 24978 of 2021 (Abo Hamad Misdemeanors). On charges of Joining a terrorist group and possessing publications that promote its ideas.
This came instead of releasing him despite serving his prison sentence in connection with report No. 1873 (Emergency State Security Misdemeanors) on September 13 without his release.
Al-Hout was rotated in connection with six new cases with the exact charges since his arrest in 2014 during his studies in Zagazig University against charges of demonstrating inside the university campus.
The first of them was report No. 5736 of 2014 (New Cairo Administrative), after a period of pretrial detention, and a decision to release him on a financial bail of ten thousand pounds was issued. Still, the decision was not implemented, and he was subjected to enforced disappearance.
He was rotated pending another Case, No. 3557 of 2013 (South Sharkia), in which he was sentenced to five years in prison and five more years of probation, which ended on January 5, 2020.
While he was transferred from Wadi el-Natrun Prison to Abu Kabir Police Station to carry out the procedures for his release, he was illegally detained and presented before the Prosecution in connection with Report No. 1607 of 2020 (State Security Misdemeanor). The court sentenced him to two months in prison with bail.
Instead of releasing him for serving his sentence, he was presented before the Prosecution again, in connection with Report No. 3139 of 2020, with the exact old charges, and the court sentenced him to two months in prison with bail.
One more time, he was rotated in connection with Lawsuit No. 4071 of 2021 (State Security Misdemeanor Abu Kabir). On January 30, 2021, a sentence of two months in prison and a fine were issued against him.
To be rotated again after serving his sentence, in connection with report No. 1044 of 2021, he was sentenced to three months in prison on June 1, 2021.
Last July, Abo Kabir Prosecution investigated him in connection with Report No. 1873 of 2021. He was referred to the Emergency State Security Court, which sentenced him to two months in prison and a fine of 500 pounds. Despite serving his sentences, Al-Hout was kept in pretrial detention until he was rotated in connection with the current report.

Last Thursday, AFTE submitted complaint No.110295 to the Attorney General on behalf of Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout to release him after serving his sentence in connection with report No. 1873 of 2021 (Emergency State Security misdemeanor).
The Emergency State Security Court at Abu Kabir Center had issued a verdict of a two-month prison sentence and a fine of 500 pounds against Al-Hout, with the sentence ending on September 13, 2021, yet he has not been released.
Al-Hout was arrested in 2014, and he was subjected to a long series of violations, starting with rotating in connection with six cases with the exact charges, passing through the exceptional trial at the Emergency State Security Court, and ending with intransigence in his release.

Last Saturday, the Emergency State Security Misdemeanors Court of “Abu Kabir”, had issued a two-month prison sentence and a fine of 500 pounds to “Omar Mahmoud Al-Hout”, pending report No. 1873 emergency state security misdemeanors.
It’s worth noting that both Summary and Supreme Emergency State Security courts are exceptional; as their verdicts cannot be appealed.
“Al-Hout” was subjected to a long series of “rotating”, which refers to re-detaining defendants after their release, usually with the same previous charges, or it may be a case that began during his pretrial detention, to keep political dissidents detained.
And after his arrest in 2014, he first was detained pending lawsuit No. 5736 of 2014 new Cairo, and a decision was issued to release him on a financial bail of ten thousand pounds, but the decision was not implemented and the defendant was subjected to enforced disappearance.
He was rotated pending another Case, No. 3557 of 2013 in which he faced charges of joining demonstrations inside Zagazig University, and was sentenced to five years in prison and five more years of probation, which ended on January 5 last year.

For the fourth time, instead of releasing him for serving his sentence, he was investigated pending lawsuit No. 3139 of 2020, with the same old charges, and the court decided to imprison him for two months, till he was recycled again pending the fifth lawsuit No. 1044 of 2021 and he was Sentenced 3 month in prison, to be listed again pending the current lawsuit with a two-month prison sentence issued against him.

The Emergency State Security Misdemeanors court (Abu Kabir center) decided on last Tuesday’s session june 1st, to imprison Omar Mahmoud al-Hout for 3 months in case no. 1044 of 2021Emergency State Security Misdemeanors, after accusations of joining a terrorist group and promoting its ideas through publications that were confiscated during his arrest.
Notably, this is the first time the defendant had been recycled in new cases instead of releasing him, the decision came despite being in custody pending multiple cases since 2014, as first he was detained pending lawsuit No. 5736 of 2014 new Cairo, and a decision was issued to release him on a financial bail of ten thousand pounds, but the decision was not implemented and the defendant was subjected to enforced disappearance.

The Emergency State Security Misdemeanors court decided, at the July 25th session, to imprison Omar Mahmoud al-Hout for two months in case no. 154 of 2020 – registered with No. 607 of 2020, in addition to a fine of LE 500. Al-Hout is accused of possession of leaflets promoting terrorist ideas.

The Emergency State Security Misdemeanors court, decided, after hearing the defense pleadings of Omar Mahmoud al-Hout, at a session yesterday, July 4, to set his case, No. 154 of 2020 – registered with No. 607 of 2020, for adjudication on the July 25, 2020 session.
The prosecution accused al-Hout of possession of leaflets promoting terrorist ideas.
It is worth noting that the defendant was detained by the police as he was serving a five-year prison sentence in case No. 15857 of 2015 Zagazig Second Criminal, in which he was accused of demonstrating inside Zagazig University and joining a banned group.
The defendant served his term on January 10, 2020, but he was not released, to be charged with the charges mentioned in the new case.
It is noteworthy that the defendant was a student at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Zagazig University, and he finished his studies while he was in prison, where he completed the exams of his last two years of school while in prison.
