{"id":19109,"date":"2020-06-04T17:18:59","date_gmt":"2020-06-04T15:18:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/?page_id=19109"},"modified":"2020-06-04T17:18:59","modified_gmt":"2020-06-04T15:18:59","slug":"the-detainees-journalists-category","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/the-detainees-journalists-category","title":{"rendered":"The Detainees Journalists Category"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>To list a detained person in the journalists\u2019 category, the two following conditions must be met;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">First, verifying the detainee identification as a journalist.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The detainee identification as a journalist shall be verified if one of the following conditions is available;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the detainee has ID of the Journalists\u2019 Syndicate membership;<\/li>\n<li>If the detainee has a written assignment letter by the press\/media institution he\/she works for;<\/li>\n<li>If the detainee has an oral mission assignment by the press\/media institution he\/she works for;<\/li>\n<li>If the detainee has his\/her own press work archive in any press\/media institution;<\/li>\n<li>If the detainee has an employee recognition either by officials of the press\/media institution he\/she works for or via its online platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>And the ownership of a news website or printed newspaper would be sufficient verification for AFTE to recognize the detainee&#8217;s workplace as a press\/media institution.<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Second, verifying the correlation between the Journalist\u2019s detention and performing his press work.<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This correlation shall be verified if one of the following conditions is available;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the detention caused by his work on a story;<\/li>\n<li>If the detention caused by the journalist\u2019s work relationship with a press\/media institution;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>And both conditions would be verified by either written assignment letter, employee recognition, a testimony of the victim through his\/her lawyers\/family, or interrogation records. <\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note: Journalists who have been arrested for posting information on their social media accounts will be added.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To list a detained person in the journalists\u2019 category, the two following conditions must be met; First, verifying the detainee identification as a journalist.
