Cairo Criminal Court has sentenced activist Ahmed Douma to 15 years of\u00a0aggravate imprisonment and a fine of EGP 6 million (USD\u00a033,4243) in the case that is known as the Cabinet Clashes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The vocal activist is being tried on the background of participating in clashes that took place in December 2011 objecting to appointing Mubarak’s era Head of Cabinet\u00a0kamal El Gargni as a Prime Minister after the former was toppled.<\/span><\/p>\n

Douma is accused of crowding, burning the first floor of the Parliament building, and the illegal\u00a0<\/span>use of force. He was already sentenced to lifelong prison and over EGP 17.5 million fine for the\u00a0damage he caused.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The lawsuit is registered with number 8629\/2011 Sayeda Zainab\/Criminal, and recorded with number 3528\/2011 General\/ Downtown\u00a0<\/span>Cairo.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Cairo Criminal Court has postponed<\/span>\u00a0the retrial of the activist Ahmed Doma<\/span>\u00a0in the “Cabinet Clashes” case to November 1,<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0to listen to the pleading and review medical reports of the attacked civil servants.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
