The State Security Prosecution decided to release the journalist, Hassan El-Banna Mubarak, under guarantee of his place of residence.El-Bana completed two years in remand detention on February 14, 2020, pending case No. 441 of 2018, Supreme State Security Prosecution, on charges of joining a terrorist group.<\/p>\n

State Security Prosecutor extended the pretrial detention of El-Watan News photojournalist Zainab Abu Ouna for 15 days pending investigations in case 441\/2018 State Security.<\/p>\n

Abu Ouna is accused of joining a terrorist group and publishing false news. She was stopped from Cairo International Airport on August 17, as she was on her way to attend a photography workshop in Lebanon. Then, she became one of the defendant of the case which includes other journalists such as Al-Shorouk’s Hassan Al-Banna, blogger Wael Abbas, Masr Alarabeya’s chief editor Adel Sabry<\/a>, among others.<\/div>\n

Cairo Criminal Court extended the detention of photojournalist Shorouk Amgad for 15 days pending investigations in case 441\/2018 State Security.<\/p>\n

Amgad is Facing the charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading fake news.<\/p>\n

Many other journalists are held pending the same case including Al-Shorouk’s Hassan Al-Banna, El Watan’s Zainab Abu Ouna,\u00a0Mostafa Al-A’sar, and Masr Alarabeya’s chief editor Adel Sabry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that blogger Wael Abbas was conditionally released pending the case On December, 3.<\/p>\n

Giza Criminal Court rejected journalist Mostafa Al-A’sar’s appeal on the 45-day extension of his remand pending case 441\/2018.<\/p>\n

Al-A’sar was arrested on February 4 along with fellow journalist Hassan Al-Banna. Then, they disappeared for two weeks before they were interrogated by the State Security Prosecutor.<\/p>\n

The two journalists are\u00a0charged with circulating fake news, joining illegal group and funding it.<\/p>\n

There are many other journalists held in custody pending this case including\u00a0Zeinab Abu Ouna,\u00a0Shorouk Amgad, and\u00a0Masr Alarabeya’s chief editor Adel Sabry. <\/a><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that blogger Wael Abbas was conditionally released pending the case yesterday.<\/p>\n

Cairo Criminal Court has endorsed blogger Wael Abbas’ conditional release pending case 441\/2018 and has rejected the State Security Prosecution’s appeal on the decision, originally issued two days ago.<\/p>\n

Accordingly, he will have to visit the nearest police station to his house twice a week for a renewable 45 days after his release.<\/p>\n

The vocal blogger has been in pretrial detention pending this case since May.\u00a0There are many other journalists in remand detention pending the same case including\u00a0Zeinab Abu Ouna,\u00a0Shorouk Amgad, Hassan\u00a0Al-Banna, Mostafa Al-A’sar, and\u00a0Masr Alarabeya’s chief editor Adel Sabry.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Higher State Security Prosecution has appealed the conditional release of blogger Wael Abbas pending case 441\/2018.\u00a0 It also assigned circuit 25 of Giza Criminal Court to consider the appeal tomorrow.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that circuit 14 of the same court has ordered the release of the blogger yesterday with 45 days of renewable precautionary measures requiring him to visit the nearest police station to his house twice a week.<\/p>\n

South Cairo Criminal Court rejected\u00a0Hassan Al-Banna’s appeal on the 45-day extension of his remand pending case 441\/2018. It also extended the pretrial detention of El Wattan’s photojournalist Zeinab Abu Ouna for 15 days pending the same case.<\/p>\n

Al-Banna, journalist at Al-Shorouk newspaper, is charged with joining and funding an illegal group, and spreading false news. Similarly, Abu Ouna is accused of joining a banned group and circulating fake news.<\/p>\n

Al-Banna and another fellow journalist Mostafa Al-A’sar were arrested on February 4. Then, they disappeared for two weeks before they were interrogated by the State Security Prosecutor. While Abu Ouna\u00a0was stopped from Cairo International Airport on August 17, as she was on her way to attend a photography workshop in Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Although detention for 15 days has been decided after investigating the defendant without attorney, State Security Prosecution has prolonged the investigation of the journalist of AL-Shorouk, H<\/span><\/span>assan Al-Bana Mubarak for another day. This will be the third time the defendant has been investigated for. Th<\/span>e prosecution has charged the Al-Bana along with Mostafa Al-A\u2019sar with joining an illegally founded group in the lawsuit number 441\/2018. This is after the police forces had arrested the two journalist on Sunday, February 4,<\/span>\u00a0<\/sup>and abducted them.
