Alexandria Criminal Court adjourned the trial of Mohamed Emad in case\u00a026116\/2014 to February 16, 2019 to hear the social expert’s consultancy. Accordingly, the defendant is to remain released.\u00a0<\/div>\n
The case dates back to January 3, 2014 when the then 15-year-old Emad was handed, along with his friend, to the police by thugs.<\/div>\n
Emad and his friend were trying to stop the thugs from sexually harassing girls in the street, but the thugs claimed that Emad was protesting. Then, he was held for three years and six month until he was released on a presidential pardon in June 2017.<\/div>\n
His released only lasted for 8 months as police forces arrested him again from his house claiming that the pardon was not lawful. Despite he remained in custody since then, he was sentenced “in-absentia” to three years in prison on April 18.<\/div>\n

Emad is charged with protesting, illegally assembling, showing off force, blocking public roads, vandalizing public and private properties, possessing\u00a0petrol bombs, joining a terrorist group, murder, and attempting a murder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
