Last Monday, The Third Terrorism Circuit of the Criminal Court had decided to release the member of Al-Dostour political party \u201cAhmed Saber Ghandour\u201d with precautionary measures pending Case No. 1956 of 2021.<\/p>\n

Precautionary measures are considered as the complementary and alternative penalty to pretrial detention in Egyptian law, and they are applied under the text of Article 201 of Law No. 150 of 1950 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.<\/p>\n

And they take three forms: either obligating the defendant not to leave his house or country by imposing police surveillance, or obligating the defendant to bring himself to the police headquarters at specific times, usually three days a week, or banning the defendant from frequenting specific places, if the defendant violated the obligations imposed by the measure, he shall be arrested.<\/p>\n

The Security forces arrested “Ghandour” on December 30, 2019, from Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.<\/p>\n

The Third Circuit (Criminal\/Terrorism), decided on its meeting held today, 11 May 2021, decided to renew the detention of 4 members of Al Destour party in Sharqia governorate, \u201cHamdy Zaky\u201d, \u201cAhmed Saber Ghandour\u201d, “Maher Abdel Hakim” and \u201cMohamed Abu Samra\u201d who was arrested from Damietta on December 30, 2019, for 45 days pending investigations into case No.1956 of 2019, Supreme state security.<\/p>\n

the three of them are accused of joining a terrorist group, misusing social media, and spreading false news.<\/p>\n

5 April 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Third Circuit (Criminal\/Terrorism), decided on its meeting held on Monday, April the 5th, at the police secretary academy (Tura), decided to renew the detention of 3 members of Al Destour party in Sharqia governorate, “Hamdy Zaky”, “Tarek Abdel Hakim”, and “Mohamed Abu Samra” who was arrested from Damietta on December 30, 2019, for 45 days pending investigations into case No.1956 of 2019, Supreme state security.<\/p>\n

On October 25, the Fifth Circuit (Criminal\/Terrorism) decided to renew the detention of members of Al Destour party in Sharqia governorate, Maher Abdel Hakim, Mohamed al-Sayed,\u00a0Tarek Youssef Mustafa,\u00a0 and\u00a0Mohamed Abu Samra who\u00a0was arrested from Damietta governorate on December 30, 2019,\u00a0for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1956 of 2019, in which they are accused of \u201cjoining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media\u201d.<\/p>\n

26 Aug 2020<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On August 25, the First Circuit (Cairo\/Criminal) decided to renew the detention of members of Al Destour party in Sharqia governorate, Maher Abdel Hakim, Mohamed al-Sayed Mohamed Abu Samra and Tarek Youssef Mustafa, for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1956 of 2019, in which they are accused of \u201cjoining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media\u201d.<\/p>\n

2 June 2020<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

On June 2, the Second Circuit (Criminal\/Terrorism) decided to renew the detention of members of Al Destour party in Sharqia governorate, Maher Abdel Hakim, Mohamed al-Sayed Mohamed Abu Samra and Tarek Youssef Mustafa, for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1956 of 2019, in which they are accused of “joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media”.<\/p>\n
