The Supreme State Security Prosecution has referred <\/span>Amr Abdel-Moneim<\/span>\u2019s case to a substantive trial in Case No. 930 of 2019 (State Security Prosecution), known in the media as the \u201cHope Cell Case,\u201d without setting a date for the hearing yet.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the Criminal Court (Second Terror Circuit) had previously renewed <\/span>Abdel-Moneim<\/span>\u2019s detention for 45 days, despite him exceeding the maximum pretrial detention limit of two years, having spent more than five years in custody since his arrest on June 21, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

AFTE has called for <\/span>Abdel-Moneim<\/span>\u2019s immediate release, following the example of others who were released in the same case, especially given the lack of legal justification for his continued detention.<\/span> Abdel-Moneim<\/span> faces charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news and information.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Criminal Court (Second Circuit Terrorism) decided to renew Amr Abdel-Moneim’s detention for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security), known in the media as \u201cthe Alliance of Hope lawsuit.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Abdel-Moneim exceeded four years in pretrial detention, as security forces arrested him on July 19, 2019, in connection with the aforementioned case, which included several political activists, many of whom were released. Abdel Moneim completes his fourth year in pretrial detention next month; as he was arrested on June 21, 2019. And faces accusations of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

10 April 2023 “Criminal Court renews Amr Abdel-Moneim\u2019s detention for 45 days”\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On April 10, the Criminal Court (Second Circuit) decided to renew the detention of Amr Abdel-Moneim for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security), known in the media as \u201cthe Alliance of Hope Case\u201d which included several political activists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Abdel-Moneim completes three years in pretrial detention within a few months despite that the maximum period of pretrial detention is two years, according to Egyptian law. He faces accusations of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On February 8, the Criminal Court (First Terrorism Circuit) decided to renew the detention of Amr Abdel-Moneim for 45 days in connection with Case Known in the media as \u201cthe Alliance of Hope Case.\u201d Case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Abdel-Moneim was arrested on June 21, 2019, and faces charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news<\/span><\/p>\n

20 August 2022\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On August 20, The Criminal Court (First Terrorism Circuit) decided to renew the detention of Amr Abdel-Moneim for 45 days in connection with Case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security). Known in the media as \u201cthe Alliance of Hope Case.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Abdel-Moneim was arrested on June 21, 2019, which requires his release as he exceeded the maximum pretrial detention period following the Code of Criminal Procedure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Essam and Abdel-Moneim were both arrested at different times in 2019, they face charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, The Criminal Court decided to renew the detention of accountant Alaa Essam for 45 days, pending investigations of Case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n

The Court\u2019s decision to renew Essam\u2019s detention came despite him exceeding two years in pretrial detention in connection with the same case, which requires the State Security Prosecution to order his release for exceeding the maximum pretrial detention limit following the Code of Criminal Procedure.<\/p>\n

Essam charges of joining a terrorist group in its activity, Using the Internet to commit a crime and spreading false news. Notably, The Egyptian Authorities released activist Ramy Shaath the previous convicted in the same case, known in the media as the \u201cAlliance of Hope\u201d case.<\/p>\n

12 December 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On Sunday, December 12, The Criminal Court (The Fifth Circuit Criminal\/ Terrorism) decided to renew the detention of Alaa Essam for 45 days, pending Case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n

Security forces arrested Essam on June 28, 2019, from his house in Suez. The following day he was presented before The Supreme State Security Prosecution pending the current case, known in the media as the Alliance of Hope case<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Essam faces charges of joining a terrorist group in its activity, Using the Internet to commit a crime, and spreading false news.<\/p>\n

2 November 2021\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Tuesday, November 2, The Criminal Court (The Second Circuit Terrorism) decided to renew the detention of Alaa Essam for 45 days, pending Case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n

On June 28, 2018, Security forces arrested Essam from his house in Suez. The following day he was presented before The Supreme State Security Prosecution pending the current case, known in the media as the Alliance of Hope case.<\/p>\n

3 October 2021\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Sunday, October 3, The Criminal Court (The Second Circuit Criminal Terrorism) considered the detention order of “Alaa Essam” and ordered to extend it for 45 days. This came pending Case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n

On July 28, 2019, Security forces arrested “Essam from his house,” and on the following day, he appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution to be investigated in connection with the current case known in the media as the “Alliance of Hope” case.<\/p>\n

He was charged with several accusations, including joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its purposes and spreading false news and statements.<\/p>\n

29 June 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Third Circuit (Criminal \/ Terrorism), had decided in Tuesday\u2019s session June 29, 2021, to renew the detention of \u201cAlaa Essam\u201d for 45 days pending Case No. 930 of 2019.<\/p>\n

With charges of joining a terrorist group in its activity, Using the Internet to commit a crime, and spreading false news.<\/p>\n

7 June 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Third Circuit (Criminal \/ Terrorism), had decided at Monday\u2019s session June 7, 2021, to renew the detention of \u201cAlaa Essam\u201d for 45 days pending investigations.<\/p>\n

With charges of joining a terrorist group in its activity, Using the Internet to commit a crime, and spreading false news, pending case No. 930 of 2019.<\/p>\n

29 March 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The third circuit (terrorism), decided on Monday 29 March 2021, to renew the detention of \u201cAlaa Essam\u201d for 45 days pending investigations.<\/p>\n

After filing accusations such as joining a terrorist group in its activity, Using Internet to commit a crime, and spreading false news, within case No. 930 of 2019.<\/p>\n

13 Dec 2020<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On December 13, the Third Circuit (Criminal\/Terrorism) decided to renew the detention of Alaa Essam for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 930 of 2019, in which he is accused of participating with a terrorist group in one of the group\u2019s activities and using internet websites to commit a crime and to spread false news.

On July 25th<\/sup>, the Fifth Circuit (Terrorism) decided to renew the detention of Rami Shaath and Alaa Essam for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 930 of 2019, in which they are accused of participating with a terrorist group in one of the group\u2019s activities and using internet websites to commit a crime and to spread false news.<\/p>\n

Jun 2, 2020<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On June 2, the Second Circuit (Criminal\/Terrorism) decided to renew the detention of Alaa Essam for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 930 of 2019, in which he is accused of participating with a terrorist group in one of the group’s activities and using internet websites to commit a crime and to spread false news.<\/p>\n

It is reported that the court held the renewal of detention session without the attendance of the detainee.<\/p>\n
