{"id":19712,"date":"2020-07-20T13:11:17","date_gmt":"2020-07-20T11:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/?p=19712"},"modified":"2022-03-03T14:59:15","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T12:59:15","slug":"renewing-the-detention-of-akram-mostafa-farouq-for-45-days-pending-investigations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/legal-profiles-en\/legal-news-en\/2020\/07\/20\/19712-afteegypt.html","title":{"rendered":"Mohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer\u2019s precautionary measures annulled &#038; released under the guarantee of his place of residence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>21 February 2022<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Last week, The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release Mohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer under the guarantee of his place of residence and also to annul the precautionary measures imposed on him as an alternative to pretrial detention, in connection with Case No. 1956 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Mokhaimer\u2019s precautionary measures were represented in handing the defendant himself over to the police station in his neighborhood for several hours, two days per week. in the mentioned case, Mokhaimer faced charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media, after his arrest in the first week of January 2020.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>13 February 2022<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">On February 13, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to renew the precautionary measures of Mohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer for 45 days in connection with Case No. 1956 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The precautionary measures imposed on Mokhaimer after the decision to replace his pretrial detention with one of the precautionary measures are to hand the defendant himself over to the police station of his residence for a certain number of hours weekly.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Mokhaimer faces charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>10 October 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Sunday, October 10, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to extend the detention of \u201cMohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer\u201d and to extend the precautionary measures period of \u201cAkram Mostafa Farouk,\u201d \u201cMohammad Ahmed Mansour,\u201d lawyer \u201cWalid Elgendy\u201d for 45 days.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The court decision came in connection with Case No. 1956 of 2019 (Supreme State Security). The four of them face charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It&#8217;s worth noting that Article (201) of Law No. 150 of 1950 of the Code of Criminal Procedure stipulates that \u201cthe authority concerned with pretrial detention may issue instead of it, an order with one of the following measures: compel the defendant not to leave his home or country, obligate the defendants to hand himself over to the police station at specific times, or banning the defendant from frequenting particular places, if the defendant violated the obligations imposed by the measure, he shall be remanded in pretrial detention.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>6 September 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court held at Institute of Police Secretaries had issued a decision to release both \u201cAkram Mostafa Farouk\u201d and \u201cMohammad Ahmed Mansour\u201d with precautionary measures, and to extend the precautionary measures imposed on lawyer \u201cWalid Elgendy\u201d for 45 extra days, and to renew the detention of \u201cMohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer\u201d for 45 extra days.<br \/>\nThis came pending Case No. 1956 of 2019 Supreme State Security, The mentioned court held its session on Monday, September 6, 2021, in the presence of AFTE\u2019s lawyer.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The prosecution charged them with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>13 July 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court considered the detention order of \u201cAkram Mostafa Farouk, Mohammad Abd Ellah Mokhaimer, Mohammad Ahmed Mansour\u201d and ordered to renew their detention for 45 extra days, and to release lawyer\u00a0 \u201cWalid Elgendy\u201d, and to extend the precautionary measures for \u201cAhmed Mohamed Ali\u201d this came pending Case No. 1956 of 2019 Supreme State Security, The mentioned court considered the order to renew the defendant\u2019s detention on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, in the presence of AFTE\u2019s lawyer.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The prosecution charged them with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>11 May 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The council chamber of the criminal court, decided on its meeting held on today, 11 May 2021, at the police secretary academy, to renew the detention of \u201cAkram Mostafa Farouk, Mohammad Abd Ellah Mokhaimer, Mohammad Ahmed Mansour, and lawyer Walid El-Sayed Elgendy&#8221; for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1956 of 2019, Supreme State Security.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants are accused of joining a terrorist group, publishing, spreading false news and information, and misusing social media.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>28 February 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Court decided, in the\u00a0 February 28 session, to renew the detention of \u201cAkram Mostafa Farouk, Mohammad Abd Ellah Mokhaimer, Mohammad Ahmed Mansour, and the lawyer Walid El-Sayed Elgendy for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1956 of 2019, Supreme\u00a0Security. The defendants are accused of joining a terrorist group, publishing, and\u00a0spreading\u00a0false news and information, and the misuse of social media.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>17 January 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Court decided, in the\u00a0 January 17\u00a0session, to renew the detention of \u201cAkram Mostafa Farouk, Mohammad Abd Ellah Mokhaimer, Mohammad Ahmed Mansour, and the lawyer Walid El-Sayed Elgendy for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1956 of 2019, Supreme\u00a0Security. The defendants are accused of joining a terrorist group, publishing and broadcasting false news and information, and the misuse of social media.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>8 Aug 2020<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Court decided, in the August 6 session, to release Dr. Khaled Azab, head of the Central Projects and Services Sector in Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Emad Fathi, member of the Socialist Popular Alliance Party in Alexandria, with precautionary measures in Case No. 1956 of 2019 Supreme State Security. The defendants are accused of joining a terrorist group, publishing and broadcasting false news and information, and the misuse of social media.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>19 July 2020<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Court decided, in the July 18 session, to renew the detention of Akram Mostafa Farouq, for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1956 of 2019, Supreme State Security.<\/p>\n<p>Akram Mostafa Farouk, a sales representative, was arrested by the security forces in Alexandria on January 22 of 2020.
