{"id":19726,"date":"2020-07-21T14:05:12","date_gmt":"2020-07-21T12:05:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/?p=19726"},"modified":"2020-07-21T14:05:12","modified_gmt":"2020-07-21T12:05:12","slug":"renewing-the-detention-of-hassan-mostafa-and-hussein-khamis-for-45-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/legal-updates-en\/legal-news-en\/2020\/07\/21\/19726-afteegypt.html","title":{"rendered":"Alexandrian activist Hassan Mostafa released under guarantee of his residence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b>16 January 2023\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On January 16, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release Alexandrian activist Hassan Mostafa, under the guarantee of his place of residence, pending case No. 1898 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security forces in civilian clothes arrested Hassan from his bookstore in Alexandria on December 11, 2019; the forces took him to the National Security headquarters in Alexandria, where Hassan was illegally detained for two weeks, during which he was physically assaulted with fists and stick, he was also blindfolded and handcuffed, in June 2020, Hassan\u2019s mother passed away on her way back to Alexandria from Tora Prison after the prison\u2019s administration refused to allow her to visit her son.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hassan faced charges of promoting a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and misusing social media websites.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>2 June 2022 &#8220;After three years in pretrial detention; Hussein Khamis Shebl\u2019s release procedures under the guarantee of his residence finalized&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Today, Tora prison administration finalized Hussein Khamis Mohamed Shebl\u2019s, as per the Supreme State Security Prosecution\u2019s decision issued on May 30 to release him under the guarantee of his residence, in connection with Case No. 1898 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Shebl was arrested in 2019 from his workplace in Alexandria governorate and he faced charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing a social media website.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>21 July 2020 &#8220;Renewing the detention of Hassan Mostafa and Hussein Khamis for 45 days&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Court decided in the July 19th session to renew the detention of Hassan Mostafa and Hussein Khamis for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1898 of 2019, State Security.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants face charges of &#8220;promoting a terrorist group, spreading false news and misusing social media.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>16 January 2023\u00a0 On January 16, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release Alexandrian activist Hassan Mostafa, under the guarantee of his place of residence, pending case No. 1898 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).\u00a0 Security forces in civilian clothes arrested Hassan from his bookstore in Alexandria on December 11, 2019; the forces took him [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":33335,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"yes","_lmt_disable":"","_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[978],"tags":[],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.6 -
