2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The first circuit had decided yesterday to accept the writ of \u201cWalid Mohamed Hamid Aqlan\u201d, and to suspend the police probation that was imposed on him, pending case No. 5976 of 2013, the New Felonies of Heliopolis, known as \u201cEl-Ethadia events\u201d, filed under No. 7278 of 2013 East Cairo, in which he&#8217;s accused of participating in a gathering, displaying force, destroying public properties, and assaulting a public official during and because of the performance of their work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The public prosecution had imposed the police probation sentence on the defendant as a complementary penalty after he had served the period that the court had sentenced him to 3 years in prison, and the court&#8217;s decision came yesterday after he had spent nearly a year and a half in probation.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It should be noted that AFTE had filed last April, a lawsuit No. 44623 of 75, before the Administrative Court \/ the First Circuit, on behalf of the defendant, to appeal the provision of the administration authority to refrain from designating his residence as a place of probation, instead of designating the Bulaq Dakrour police station as a place of probation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>23 May 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Administrative Court (First circuit) scheduled the upcoming June 12 session, as the first session of emergency motion in lawsuit No. 44623 of 75 judicial year, filed by AFTE on behalf of \u201cWalid Mohamed Hamid Aqlan\u201d, against Minister of Interior (in his capacity), Head of Giza security directorate (in his capacity), and Chief of Bulaq Dakrour police station (in his capacity).<\/p>\n<p>In order to appeal the provision of the administration authority to refrain from designating his residence as a place of probation, instead of designating the Bulaq Dakrour police station as a place of probation.<\/p>\n<p>Cairo Criminal Court had previously issued a default judgment against \u201cWalid Mohamed Hamid Aqlan\u201d, with five years imprisonment with labour, in Case No. 5976 of 2013, the New Felonies of Heliopolis, known as \u201cEl-Ethadia events\u201d, in which he\u2019s accused of participating in a gathering, displaying force, destroying public properties, and assaulting a public official during and because of the performance of their work, before the sentence was reduced to three years.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">19 April 2021<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression filed today, April 19, 2020, case No. 44623 of 75, before the Administrative Court of the First Circuit, on behalf of \u201cWalid Mohamed Hamid Aqlan\u201d, against both Minister of Interior (in his capacity), Head of Giza security directorate (in his capacity), and Chief of Bulaq Dakrour police station (in his capacity).<\/p>\n<p>To appeal the provision of the administration authority to refrain from designating his residence as a place of probation, instead of designating the Bulaq Dakrour police station as a place of probation.<br \/>\nA hearing has not yet been set to consider the urgent part, as the appeal included a request to suspend the implementation of the appealed decision pending the decision on the merits of the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that, Cairo Criminal Court had previously issued a default judgment against \u201cWalid Mohamed Hamid Aqlan\u201d, with five years imprisonment with work and execution, in Case No. 5976 of 2013, the New Felonies of Heliopolis,
