Al-Adham&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Legal Bulletin covers the lawsuits in which AFTE provides the necessary legal aid, in accordance with AFTE\u2019s framework.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Criminal Courts<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>June 13, 2021: The Third Circuit (Criminal\/Terrorism) renewed the detention of 360 Masr Website journalist \u201cAhmed Mohamed Khalifa\u201d for 45 days, pending Case No. 65 of 2021. \u201cKhalifa\u201d was arrested on January 6, 2021, after he went to National Security Headquarter in Faiyum, after being summoned for investigations, to appear on January 19, at the Supreme State Security Prosecution to be investigated in the case attributed to him.<\/p>\n<p>The Third Circuit also renewed the pretrial detention of \u201cMostafa Gamal Kamel Mohamed\u201d, and The Council Chamber of The Criminal Court renewed the pretrial detention of \u201cMohamed Safani Kobeisy Marzouk\u201d for 45 days pending the same Case No. 65 of 2021.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that both the defendants have been recycled in the current case, as \u201cMostafa Gamal\u201d spent two years and two months in petrial detention pending Case 480 of 2018 Supreme State Security, until the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release him under the guarantee of his place of residence, However, he was unlawfully detained in an unknown location until he was recycled pending Case No. 730 of 2020 Supreme State Security, till a judgment was rendered by The Criminal Court to place him under the precautionary measures, and the same scenario was repeated, and he was recycled pending the current case.<\/p>\n<p>And\u00a0 \u201cMohamed Safani\u201d spent around 5 months in pretrial detention pending Case No. 751 of 2020,\u00a0 until December 13, 2020\u00a0 when The Council Chamber of The Criminal Court issued a judgment to release him with precautionary measures, but the judgment wasn\u2019t implemented, he was unlawfully detained at El-Maragha Police Station until he was transferred to Sohag Security Directorate, to remain in detention for several days until he was presented before the prosecution pending the new case.<\/p>\n<p>And pending Case No. 855 of 2020 Supreme State Security, the pretrial detention was renewed for \u201cMohamed Salah Abdel Aziz\u201d, \u201cAhmed Yousry Ghaly\u201d, \u201cMohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim\u201d, \u201cZeyad Abou El-Fadl\u201d, \u201cMohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Radwan\u201d, Known as \u201c Mohamed Oxygen\u201d and \u201cSameh Ramadan Mohamed Saudi\u201d, for 45 days, The Third Circuit Terrorism also decided to replace the pretrial detention with precautionary measures for \u201cAhmed Fathy Massoud\u201d, and to extend the precautionary measures of \u201cKhaled Elsayed Elbadawy\u201d for 45 days, pending the same case.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s mentioned that the Criminal Court had decided to release \u201cZeyad Abou El-Fadl\u201d who was accused pending Case No. 1739 of 2018 with precautionary measures, also a judgment to release \u201cMohamed Mamdouh\u201d with precautionary measures pending Case No. 1331 of 2019 was issued, in addition to \u201cMohamed Salah\u201d who was detained pending Case No. 488 of 2019, and in July 19, 2020, the First Circuit Terrrorism decided to replace his pretrial detention with precautionary measures, also a judgments to release \u201cMohamed Oxygen\u201d pending Case No. 621 of 2019, and \u201cSameh Saudi\u201d with precautionary measures pending Case No. 1305 of 2018 were issued.<\/p>\n<p>However, neither of these release orders were implemented, and they were all recycled in the new Case No. 855 of 2020 Supreme State Security.<\/p>\n<p>June 14, 2021: The Council Chamber of The Criminal Court renewed the pretrial detention of both \u201cBelal Abdel Razek\u201d and \u201cMohamed Gaber Soliman El-Masry\u201d for 45 days, pending Case No. 488 of 2019 Supreme State Security.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s noted that \u201cBelal\u201d was arrested on March 1, 2019, while participating in a vigil in the area of Mohamed Naguib in Alexandria, and \u201cMohamed Gaber\u201d \u2013 member of the Supreme Authority Committee of \u201cStrong Egypt\u201d Party \u2013 was arrested on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, from his workplace in the 10th of Ramadan city.<\/p>\n<p>While The Third Circuit Criminal Terrorism renewed the pretrial detention of journalist \u201cAmer Abdel-Moneim\u201d -57 years old- for 45 days pending Case No. 1017 of 2020, the security forces arrested him on December 18, 2020, from his house in Al-Haram area, to appear two days later at the Supreme State Security Prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmer\u201d suffers from a chronic viral infection in his eyes, in addition to diabetes, and he had two operations on his eyes less than two months before his arrest.<\/p>\n<p>AFTE issued <a href=\"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/advocacy-en\/statements-en\/2021\/05\/27\/22625-afteegypt.html\">a statement<\/a> calling on the Public Prosecutor to release him and urging the Journalists Syndicate to intervene immediately to enable him to receive healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>And the Third Circuit extended the precautionary measures of defendant \u201cAhmed Mohamed Hassan Sambo\u201d for 45 days pending Case No. 1116 of 2020 Supreme State Security, Notably, he was arrested on August 12 last year, and he spent nearly ten months in pretrial detention, until a judgment to replace his pretrial detention with precautionary measures was issued on June 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>June 15, 2021: The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court renewed the detention of \u201cIslam Ali Muhammed\u201d for 45 days pending Case No. 1898 of 2019 Supreme State Security, and also decided to\u00a0 extend the precautionary measures for \u201cMohamed Abdel Monem Abdullatif\u201d for 45 days, while The Third Circuit Criminal Terrorism decided to replace the pretrial detention with precautionary measures of the defendant \u201cAhmed Muhammad Hosni\u201d, known as \u201c Ahmed Samy Shuaib\u201d, pending the same case.<\/p>\n<p>June 20, 2021: Cairo Criminal Court 15D South of Cairo has ruled, in Case No. 4917 of 2020, Sahel Felonies, registered under No. 2016 of 2020 North Cairo, known in the media as the case of human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>In absentia for the first defendant \u201cHaneen Hosam\u201d with 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 200,000 EGP, and in her presence for the second defendant \u201cMowada Al-Adham\u201d with 6 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 200,000 EGP.<\/p>\n<p>And obliged them to pay the expenses and confiscate all the seizures.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Supreme State Security Prosecution<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>June 17, 2021: Maharram Bek Summary Prosecution decided to release all the defendants (13 defendants) pending Case No. 4675 of 2021 Muharram Bek Administrative,\u00a0 known in the media as \u201cShooting Club Case \u201d.<\/p>\n<p>the events of the case date back to Friday, June 4, after protests by the residents of the \u201cShooting Club\u201d district in Alexandria against officials from the governorate, after conducting inventory committees for houses in preparation for their displacement outside the district forcibly to Bashayer Al-Khair district, the security forces arrested a large group of residents, and a group of them was released, while the defendants had been referred to the prosecution for investigations pending that Case, they were charged with inciting rally and demonstration, stone-throwing security forces and causing injuries.<\/p>\n<p>June 19, 2021: The Supreme State Security Prosecutions decided to detain \u201cAhmed El-Toukhy\u201d for 15 days pending Case No. 955 of 2020 Supreme State Security.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, he had a release order from the Criminal Court on March 21, 2021, pending Case No. 532 of 2021 Shibin Al Qanater misdemeanor with a 5000 Pounds bail, but that order wasn\u2019t implemented, and he was unjustly detained in an unknown place until he was presented before the
