The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release Mohamed Mahmoud Abdel Halim under the guarantee of his place of residence in connection with lawsuit No. 855 of 2020 (State Security).<\/p>\n

Security forces arrested Abdel Halim in November 2019 in connection with his first lawsuit against him, for which he spent a year and a half in pretrial detention till the Criminal Court decided to release him. However, Abdel Halim was subjected to rotation in a second lawsuit, facing the same previous accusations of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/p>\n

13 August 2023\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On August 13, the Criminal Court (Second Circuit) decided to renew the detention of Mohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim for 45 days, pending his second lawsuit No. 855 of 2020 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).<\/p>\n

Security forces arrested Abdel Halim on November 2019 pending his first lawsuit, and after a year and a half in pretrial detention, the Criminal Court decided to release him, but the decision was not executed, and he was listed in the current case with the exact previous accusations of the first lawsuit, which are joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/p>\n

On May 23, the Criminal Court (First Circuit) decided to renew Mohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim\u2019s detention for 45 days pending investigations of lawsuit No. 855 of 2020 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s noteworthy that it\u2019s the second time Abdel Halim has been convicted in a lawsuit; he spent a year in pretrial detention in 2019 pending another lawsuit and was reaccused of the same previous accusation, which included joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 February 2023 “Criminal Court renews Mohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim\u2019s detention for 45 days”\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On February 8, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew Mohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim\u2019s detention for 45 days, pending his second case No. 855 of 2020 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Abdel Halim spent a year in pretrial detention pending another case; he was listed in the current case after his release against the exact charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

On December 28, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) held at Badr\u2019s Court decided to renew Mohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim\u2019s detention for 45 days pending case No. 855 of 2020 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).<\/span><\/p>\n

Abdel Halim was arrested in November 2019 in connection with case No. 1331 of 2019 (Supreme State Security); a year later, the Criminal Court decided to replace his pretrial detention with one of the precautionary measures; however, Abdel Halim was rotated into the current case against charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

On August 21, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to adjourn to August 29 the hearing of the detention order of Mohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim, pending investigations into Case No. 855 of 2020 (Supreme State Security). The second case in which Abdel Halim is convicted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Sunday, December 12, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Mohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim for 45 days in connection with Case No. 855 of 2020 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n

In the current case, Abdel Halim is currently facing charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media, which are the exact charges he faced in the first Case No. 1331 of 2019 (Supreme State Security) before the Criminal Court issued a decision to release him and to get rotated in connection with the current case.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, November 2, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Mohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim for 45 days pending Case No. 855 of 2020 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n

Notably, Abdel Halim was accused in Case No. 1331 of 2019 (Supreme State Security), till a decision was issued to release him with precautionary measures, but the decision was not executed, and he was listed in the current case with the exact previous charges, which are joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/p>\n

5 October 2021\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Tuesday, October 5, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) considered the detention order of \u201cMohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim\u201d and ordered to extend it for 45 days. This came pending Case No. 855 of 2020 (Supreme State Security).<\/p>\n

Notably, \u201cAbdel Halim\u201d was accused in Case No. 1331 of 2019 (Supreme State Security), with charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media. A decision was issued to release him with precautionary measures, but the decision was not implemented, and he was listed in the current case with the same previous charges.<\/p>\n

11 July 2021<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court considered the detention order of both \u201cMohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim\u201d and \u201cZeyad Abou El-Fadl\u201d, and ordered to renew their detention for 45 extra days, this came pending Case No. 855 of 2020 Supreme State Security, The mentioned court considered the order to renew the defendants\u2019 detention on Sunday, July 11, 2021, in the presence of AFTE\u2019s lawyer.<\/p>\n

The Criminal Court had previously decided to release \u201cZeyad Abou El-Fadl\u201d with precautionary measures, who had been detained pending Case No. 1739 of 2018, also a release order for \u201cMohamed Mamdouh Abdel Halim\u201d with precautionary measures was issued, pending Case No. 1331 of 2019, however, the orders didn\u2019t pass, and they were presented before the Supreme State Security Prosecution in Case No. 855 of 2020 Supreme State Security.<\/p>\n

The investigations charged them with joining a terrorist group, and spreading false news, and using a social media account with the aim of spreading the false news.<\/p>\n
