{"id":30297,"date":"2022-04-28T17:34:22","date_gmt":"2022-04-28T15:34:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/?p=30297"},"modified":"2022-04-28T17:34:22","modified_gmt":"2022-04-28T15:34:22","slug":"job-opening-legal-research-units-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/jobs\/2022\/04\/28\/30297-afteegypt.html","title":{"rendered":"Job Opening: Legal Research Unit\u2019s Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>The Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression (AFTE) is seeking to recruit a Legal Research Unit\u2019s Director, according to the following criteria and requirements:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b>Required Experience and Skills:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency in Arabic both written and spoken, and very good command in English both written and spoken.<\/li>\n<li>University degree in one of the following fields: \u201cPolitical Science, Law, Sociology, Anthropology\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in managing research projects or previous management experience in one of the following fields: \u201cLaw, Human Rights, Development\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in editing position papers and statements.<\/li>\n<li>Belief in human rights principles, and knowledge of human rights issues in Egypt.<\/li>\n<li>A Master\u2019s degree in Law or Social Sciences is preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow-up and evaluation of researchers working in the unit.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and analyse the legislations relevant to AFTE&#8217;s work.<\/li>\n<li>Edit reports, position papers and publications.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare an annual action plan for the Legal Research Unit.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare reports about the legal research unit\u2019s activities, and measure the unit\u2019s capacity regarding the implementation of the action plan.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a training plan for unit\u2019s researchers on preparation draft laws, laws amendment, and related explanatory notes.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute in communication with the parliamentarians and senators of Egypt, and the organizations relevant to AFTE\u2019s work.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with the directors of other units.<\/li>\n<li>Public appearance in the media, and events relevant to AFTE\u2019s work.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Develop legal research guidelines, and define research methodologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b>About the position:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Working 6 hours daily, 5 days a week at AFTE\u2019s office in Cairo.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">There will be a probationary period at least 3 months before being appointed.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Salary is determined based on previous experience, and wage structure in AFTE.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b>How to apply:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Please submit your application by sending an updated CV to: <a href=\"mailto:jobs@afteegypt.org\">jobs@afteegypt.org<\/a> and write<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Legal Research Unit\u2019s Director<\/strong><\/span>\u201d in the subject of your email.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Closing date<\/span>:<\/b> 15th May 2022<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression (AFTE) is seeking to recruit a Legal Research Unit\u2019s Director, according to the following criteria and requirements: Required Experience and Skills: Proficiency in Arabic both written and spoken, and very good command in English both written and spoken.
