After a month of illegal detention, Ramadan appeared bedore the investigation authorities against accusations of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: rtl;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b>1 August 2022 &#8220;Criminal Court renews the detention of journalist Medhat Ramadan for 45 days&#8221;\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the 1st of August, Cairo Criminal Court decided to renew the detention of the journalist at Shababik newspaper, Medhat Ramadan, for 45 days, in connection with Case No. 680 of 2020 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On May 28, 2020, security forces arrested Ramadan from his house in Menofia governorate and confiscated his personal belongings; he was subjected to enforced disappearance for over a month till he appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on June 27 of the same year, which in turn charged him with joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>29 March 2023\u00a0 On March 29, the Criminal Court (Third Circuit) decided to renew the detention of the journalist at Shababik newspaper, Medhat Ramadan, for 45 days, in connection with Case No. 680 of 2020 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).
