Abou Mandour was arrested on the ground of sharing his opinions about the poor living conditions on social media, he was also subjected to physical torture for two weeks with electric shocks and handcuffing his hands behind his back. Abou Mandour is 40 years old and works at a food company.<\/p>\n

Security forces arrested Abou Mandour on November 10, and he remained unlawfully detained for two weeks, during which he was subjected to physical torture with electric shocks and handcuffing his hands behind, Abou Mandour\u2019s arrest came against several posts on a Facebook account that included a call for November 11 demonstrations, others in which he discusses political views, and Abu Mandour denied his ownership of the account. For this regard; he\u2019s accused of joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its aims, committing the crime of financing terrorism, inciting to commit a terrorist act, spreading false news and information that would disturb public peace and order, using an account on social media to commit a terrorist crime.<\/span><\/p>\n

27 March 2023 “Supreme State Security Prosecution renews Mohamed Abou Mandour\u2019s detention for 15 days for calling for demonstrations on Facebook”\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On Monday, March 27; the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the pretrial detention of Mohamed Abou Mandour for 15 days pending investigations of lawsuit No. 2216 of 2022, the very case in which Abou Mandour is convicted for sharing posts on Facebook calling for the November 11 demonstrations and other political posts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The detention authorities physically assaulted Abou Mandour during the period after his arrest. He faces accusations of joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its aims, committing the crime of financing terrorism, inciting to commit a terrorist act, spreading false news and information that would disturb public peace and order, and using an account on social media to commit a terrorist crime.<\/span><\/p>\n

Abou Mandour\u2019s arrest came in connection with several posts on a Facebook account that included a call for November 11 demonstrations, others in which he discusses political views, and Abu Mandour denied his ownership of the account. Before being brought before the prosecution, he was detained in an unknown location and reported to his lawyers that he was physically tortured during that period.<\/span><\/p>\n

Abou Mandour was tortured by handcuffing his hands behind him and getting electric shocks during the period of his enforced disappearance that followed his arrest; the 40 years old, Abou Mandour faces charges of joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its aims, committing a crime of financing terrorism, inciting to commit a terrorist act, spreading false news and information that would disturb public peace and order, and using an account on social media to commit a terrorist crime.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Which Abou Mandour is convicted against Facebook posts he shared expressing his political views.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Police forces arrested the 40 years old Abou Mandour on November 10; before he was brought before the Supreme State Security Prosecution, he was tortured by handcuffing his hands behind him and getting electric shocks. On December 19, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Mohamed Mahmoud Abou Mandour for 15 days in connection with case No. 2216 of 2022 (State Security).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Police forces arrested Abou Mandour on November 10, he was detained in an unknown location for his lawyers for 13 days during which he was tortured by handcuffing his hands behind him and getting electric shocks. During the interrogations the Prosecution\u00a0 confronted him with several posts on his Facebook profile expressing his political views and mocking the current situation, Abu Mandour denied his ownership of the account.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
