The 40 years old, Abou Mandour faces charges of joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its aims, committing the crime of financing terrorism, inciting to commit a terrorist act, spreading false news and information that would disturb public peace and order, and using an account on social media to commit a terrorist crime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also renewed Mohamed Abdel Aal Abou El-Dahab\u2019s detention for 15 days, pending investigations of case No. 2094 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security forces arrested Abou El-Dahab on November 10. He faces charges of joining a terrorist group, committing a crime of financing terrorism, using social media to promote a terrorist act, participating in a criminal agreement to commit a terrorist crime (demonstrations), inciting to commit a terrorist crime (demonstrations), and spreading false news and information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Supreme State Security Prosecution renewed Hamed Sedeek\u2019s detention for 15 days pending investigations of his second case, No. 2207 of 2021 (Supreme State Security Prosecution), against accusations of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and misusing social media.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>March 28 hearings:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Supreme State Security Prosecution renewed the detention of the Information Technology Department at Al-Akhbar newspaper, Yehia Elsayed Othman, the nursing student at Ain Shams University, Islam Ramadan Kamel, Adel Ahmed Soliman, and Mohamed Mostafa Abdel Qader for 15 days, in connection with investigations of case No. 1893 of 2022 (State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The four defendants are convicted in this lawsuit against the grounds of calling for demonstrations. They face charges of joining and financing a terrorist group with their knowledge of its aims, inciting a terrorist act, promoting a terrorist act through social media, spreading false news, and participating in a criminal agreement intended to commit a terrorist act.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On March 30, the Supreme State Security Prosecution renewed Ahmed Oraby\u2019s detention for 15 days, pending investigations of case No. 2094 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security forces arrested Oraby last November after sharing political posts on social media; Oraby faces accusations of joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its aims, committing the crime of financing terrorism, inciting to commit a terrorist crime, participating in the criminal agreement to commit a terrorist crime, spreading false news and information, and using an account on the Internet to commit a terrorist crime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #800000; color: #ffffff;\"><b>\u00a0Criminal Courts<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b>The hearings of March 27:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed Gaber Mahmoud Badway\u2019s detention for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 1977 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security forces arrested the 48 years old Badawy from his house in Alexandria for calling for November 11 demonstrations on social media. Badawy faces accusations of joining and financing a terrorist group, spreading false news, incitement to commit a terrorist act, and participating in a criminal agreement intended to commit a terrorist act.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed the detention of agricultural engineer Ashraf Ali Elgamal for 45 days pending investigations of case No. 1977 of 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security forces arrested Elgamal on October 28; for sharing posts about price hikes on social media. Elgamal faces accusations of joining a terrorist group, financing a terrorist group, spreading false news, participating in a criminal agreement to commit a terrorist act, promoting a terrorist act, and incitement to commit a terrorist act.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed the detention of Nour Fayez Ibrahim for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 2993 of 2021 (Supreme State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ibrahim was arrested in December 2021 after establishing a Facebook group to discuss monotheistic religions. He faces accusations of leading a terrorist group and disdaining the monotheistic religions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>The hearings of March 28:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed Mohamed Raafat Nasr Taha\u2019s detention for 45 days pending investigations of case No. 1977 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nasr was arrested from Hadara district, Alexandria governorate, on November 2; he faces accusations of joining a terrorist group, committing the crime of financing terrorism, using social media to call for a terrorist act, participating in a criminal agreement intended to commit a terrorist crime, incitement to commit a terrorist crime, publishing and spreading false news and information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed Wessam Salah\u2019s detention for 45 days pending investigations of case No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A security force arrested the member of the Socialist Popular Alliance Party on January 22 from his house; he faces accusations of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news and information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed Mohamed Mahmoud Amer Abdel Aziz\u2019s detention for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 1984 of 2021 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amer was arrested on October 15; He was subjected to enforced disappearance for 45 days in an unknown location and faces accusations of joining a terrorist group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed the detention of human rights lawyer Ahmed Nazeer El-Helw, for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 1940 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El-Helw was arrested on November 7 based on a detention order issued by the Public Prosecution against him; he appeared before the prosecution on November 13 and faces accusations of joining a terrorist group.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed Salah Elsayed Elqadi\u2019s detention for 45 days pending investigations of case No. 1691 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security forces arrested Elqadi from his house on October 17; he faces accusations of joining a terrorist group, committing a terrorist financing crime, using a social media account to promote a terrorist act, participating in a criminal agreement intended to commit a terrorist crime, incitement to commit a terrorist crime, and spreading false news and information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>The hearings of March 29:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed the detention of the journalist at Aljazeera Mubasher, Rabea Elsheikh, for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 1365 of 2018 (State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The prosecution accused Elsheikh of joining a terrorist group, financing the activities of that group, and spreading false news after his arrest from Cairo Airport upon his arrival from Doha, Qatar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, the Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed the detention of the journalist at Shababik newspaper, Medhat Ramadan, for 45 days, pending investigations of Case No. 680 of 2020 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security forces stormed Ramadan\u2019s house and confiscated several personal belongings after his arrest. Ramadan faces accusations of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed Momtaz Ahmed Lotfy\u2019s detention for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 1539 of 2022 (State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lotfy was arrested for sharing a video about the Gamasa Prison fire. He\u2019s accused of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed the detention of Ahmed Al-Tohamy for 45 days, pending the investigation of case No. 649 of 2020 (Supreme State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Security forces arrested Al-Tohamy from his home on 3 June 2020, which means he exceeded the maximum period of pretrial detention. The investigation authorities accused Al-Tohamy of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and statements, and misusing social media.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed Ahmed Hassanein Mohamed Moussa\u2019s detention for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 1475 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moussa was arrested in October 2019; he faces accusations of joining a terrorist group, committing a financing crime, spreading false news, and misusing social media.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed Sherif El-Rouby\u2019s detention for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 1634 of 2022 (State Security), despite suffering from the severe inflammation of the seventh nerve, which resulted in excruciating pain and difficulty in speaking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">E;-Rouby stated before the prison administration refused to transfer him to the hospital for treatment. This is El-Rouby\u2019s second case against similar accusations of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #800000; color: #ffffff;\"><b>State Council Court<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On March 28, the Administrative Judicial Court (second circuit) set the next April 9 hearing to examine AFTE\u2019s appeal No. 40133 of 77 filed on behalf of Ayman Abdel Moniem Elsayed against the head of the acting professions syndicate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AFTE filed the appeal to challenge the Syndicate\u2019s refusal of Elsayed\u2019s request to join the Syndicate without justification or pointing out the reasons for this refusal.
