The prosecution accused Selim of joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its aims, spreading false news and statements that would harm public security and order, and using a social media account to spread false news.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b>4 October 2023\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Supreme State Security Prosecution renewed the detention of one of the members of Ahmed Al-Tantawy\u2019s presidential campaign, Adel Ahmed Selim, for 15 days <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pending investigations in Case No. 2123 of 2023, Supreme State Security<\/span>. The security forces arrested him last month from his house over signing a request to join Al-Tantawy\u2019s presidential campaign and sharing posts that support Al-Tantawy on social media. The prosecution accused Selim of joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its aims, spreading false news and statements that would harm public security and order, and using a social media account to spread false news.<\/p>\n<p>Security forces have launched an extensive arrest campaign against members of the Al-Tantawy campaign that started last month and is still ongoing, The number of arrests so far is estimated at 74 people from different governorates.
