An iPad and 80,000 Egyptian pounds were confiscated during the arrest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AFTE is defending Omar and cooperating with Mr. Khaled Ali\u2019s law firm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On July 22, A security force raided his home in the October Gardens at 1:30 AM and took him to an unknown location.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Surveillance cameras showed a group of individuals in two microbuses entering the building, and about 40 minutes later, they were seen leaving with Omar, who was blindfolded. His family has been unable to ascertain his whereabouts or communicate with him for 3 days before presenting him at the prosecution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ashraf Omar recently published several satirical drawings on \u201cAl-Manassa,\u201d addressing issues such as the electricity crisis and the operation of the monorail amid scarce resources. He has also worked as a translator for books and articles for several platforms, including \u201cMada Masr.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2- <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/legal-profiles-en\/legal-news-en\/2024\/09\/30\/38588-afteegypt.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mohamed Youssef Mohamed Ibrahim<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, pending investigations in case No. 4092 of 2024, Supreme State Security.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On August 24, 2024, Ibrahim was arrested on the street after being contacted by an individual who offered him a job in a Gulf country. He was scheduled to meet this individual on the same day, but Ibrahim was surprised to discover that the person communicating with him was a National Security officer. He remained in an undisclosed location, unknown to his family or lawyer, until he was presented to the Supreme State Security Prosecution on August 26, 2024.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The prosecution has charged Ibrahim with joining a terrorist organization, being aware of its objectives, and with publishing and broadcasting false news and statements that could harm public security and order. He was also charged with using a social media account to publish and broadcast false news and statements.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is worth noting that the prosecution confronted Ibrahim with Facebook posts in which he expressed complaints about rising prices and difficult living conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3-\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/legal-profiles-en\/legal-news-en\/2024\/07\/24\/37878-afteegypt.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ahmed Essam Abbas<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, pending investigations in Case No. 2810 of 2024, Supreme State Security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abbas was arrested on June 29, 2024, due to posts on his Facebook account that included a comparison of commodity and service prices between 2013 and 2024. He remained unlawfully detained in an undisclosed location, unknown to his family, until he was brought before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on July 16, 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4- <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/legal-profiles-en\/legal-news-en\/2024\/07\/24\/37870-afteegypt.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yasser Mohamed Fouad Shaheen<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, pending investigations in Case No. 2810 of 2024, Supreme State Security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shaheen was arrested on June 29 due to posts on his Facebook account. He remained unlawfully detained in an undisclosed location, unknown to his family, until he was brought before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on July 16, 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The prosecution charged him with joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its purposes, publishing and broadcasting false news and statements that could harm security and public order and using a social media account to disseminate false news.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The prosecution confronted Shaheen with his mobile phone and Facebook posts, which discussed the economic situation in Egypt, Egypt\u2019s stance on supporting the Palestinian cause, and political opinions on some government decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5- <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/legal-profiles-en\/legal-news-en\/2024\/07\/24\/37894-afteegypt.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Magdy Mohamed Mohamed Awad<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, pending investigations in Case No. 3434 of 2024, Supreme State Security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Awad was arrested on July 6, 2024, in connection with calls for protests on July 12. He remained unlawfully detained in an undisclosed location, unknown to his family, until he was brought before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on July 10, four days after his arrest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The prosecution charged him with joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its purposes, publishing and broadcasting false news and statements that could harm security and public order and using a social media account to disseminate false news.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The prosecution confronted him with his mobile phone and Facebook posts, which included complaints about healthcare issues, high prices, power outages, and calls for protests on July 12.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6- <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/afteegypt.org\/en\/legal-profiles-en\/legal-news-en\/2024\/07\/24\/37886-afteegypt.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Islam Mahmoud Abdelaziz Abu Saud<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, pending investigations in Case No. 3434 of 2024, Supreme State Security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On July 12, 2024, Abu Saud was arrested in connection with calls for protests on July 12, 2024.
