They asked him for his name and then arrested him. Shehata disappeared for 40 days, before appearing on 10 June 2024 before the Supreme State Security Prosecution in the Fifth Settlement. The prosecution remanded him in custody pending investigation into Case No. 1568 of 2024 (Supreme State Security Prosecution) on charge of joining a terrorist group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to a lawyer at the Egyptian Observatory, Shehata\u2019s name was mentioned in an investigation with a journalist who worked for the Muslim Brotherhood\u2019s Freedom and Justice website in 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shehata has been working for Al-Youm news website since 2020 and previously worked at the Freedom and Justice website in 2012.
