This decision was issued notwithstanding technical difficulties that prevented his connection from detention to attend the detention renewal hearing via videoconference.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sanousy, aged 52, was arrested on 20 October 2025 and interrogated on 27 October 2025. He faces charges of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b><br \/>\n26 January 2026<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Mahmoud Mostafa Sanousy Abdel Aal for 15 days pending investigation in Lawsuit No. 4880 of 2025, in which he is accused of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The defendant, 52 years old, works at the Egyptian Railway Authority in Minya Governorate.
