The investigation relied on posts from his personal Facebook account, which contained criticism of economic conditions and decisions of the Council of Ministers. Saqr admitted ownership of the account. The prosecution charged him with using a social media account to promote the ideas of a terrorist organization and broadcasting false news and statements harmful to public order and security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b><br \/>\n27 July 2026<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Supreme State Security Prosecution, in its session held on July 27, decided to renew the detention of Mohamed Saqr for 15 days pending investigations in case No. 3383 of 2026 (Supreme State Security).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saqr was arrested on 18 April 2026 while at a caf\u00e9 near his residence over Facebook posts the prosecution later confronted him with; the posts contained critical views of economic conditions and some criticism of the decisions issued by the Council of Ministers. He admitted ownership of the account that published the posts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following his arrest, Saqr remained unlawfully detained for four days before being presented to investigators.
