Their sisters, Eman and Shaimaa El\u2011Shazly, are also defendants in the same case, facing identical charges, linked to their third sister’s political activity outside Egypt.<\/p>\n

It is noted that the brothers had previously been listed in Case No. 855 of 2020, in which they spent nearly three years in pretrial detention before being released. They were arrested again on May 19, 2026, from their home, and remained unlawfully detained for five days before being brought before the prosecution. The charges against them include using a social media account to promote the ideas of a terrorist organization and broadcasting false news and statements that could harm security and public order. The Supreme State Security Prosecution renewed the detention of brothers Hassan Saber El\u2011Shazly and Eid Saber El\u2011Shazly for 15 days pending investigations in Case No. 4489 of 2026 (State Security Prosecution). The renewal decision came despite Hassan\u2019s absence due to an arm injury, for which he is receiving treatment at the medical center in his place of detention.<\/span><\/p>\n
