AFTE Standards to include a person in the list of imprisoned journalists

I. Verifying identity of journalist
At least one of the following criteria:
– Press syndicate ID
– Work permit or work authorization by press institution
– Press portfolio in a press institution
– Certificate by press institution by its officials or through its media platforms
II. Verifying press institution
At least one of the following criteria:
– Press institution has a website or publication
– Pres institution has a public means of communication with it
III. Verifying journalist was on the job when subjected to violation
At least one of the following criteria:
– Work permit or authorization for the press mission
– Testimony by victim or witnesses
– Statement by officials in the press institution or through its media platforms
