Lawyer sentenced to two years in prison for calling for demonstration and changing the constitution

Criminal Court of Sharkeya has sentenced lawyer Mohamed Sharkawy, the member of Front of Defense for Egyptian Protesters, to two years in prison. Mohamed has been charged with “possession and spreading publications that call for demonstration and incite for changing the constitution forcefully via social media”.

Police forces had arrested Mohamed, in a wide security campaign during the decision making process of ‘Redrawing’ Egypt-Saudi maritime borders by the Egyptian Parliament. According to the decision Egypt waived the sovereignty over Tiran and Sanafir islands to Saudi Arabia.
