Alexandria Criminal Court released student Abdullah Mamdouh (19) pending case 22580/2014, known as Kom El-Dikka Juvenile Detention Center clashes. It also scheduled February 11, 2019 to consider Mamdouh’s retrial.

The case dates to June 2014 when clashes erupted between policemen and the underage detainees who objected sending them to El-Marg Juvenile Detention Center.

On March 2016, Alexandria Criminal Court sentenced the 47 defendants of the case to two years in prisons and two years of supervision for the few adult defendants. By then, most of the detainees were already underage including Mamdouh who was 17.

The defendants are charged with vandalizing the detention center, resisting authorities, attacking civil servants, possessing white weapons, and demonstrating violence.
