Maadi Misdemeanor Court has sentenced activist Amal Fathy to two years in prison for publishing a video about sexual harassment in case 7991/2018.
The activist was conditionally released on December 27 pending another case (621/2018 state security), nine days after Cairo Criminal Court’s decision to release her.
Fathy was sentenced on September 29, to two years in prison and a EGP 10.000-bail or a EGP-20,000-bail in case 7991/2018, a decision that was then appealed.
Fathy is charged with spreading false news, and publishing an offensive video because she published a video complaining about harassment on her personal Facebook account.

Maadi Misdemeanor Appeal Court postponed activist Amal Fathy’s trial to December 30.
The April 6 Youth Movement member was sentenced to two years in prison and an EGP 10.000-bail or an EGP-20,000-bail in case 7991/2018.

Maadi Misdemeanor appeal court has ordered the release of the activist and member of 6 April group, Amal Fathy on a 10 thousand EGP bail. Amal was facing the charges of inciting for toppling the system and the misuse of social media in lawsuit 7991/2018.
