Renewing the detention of Shady Abu Zaid for 45 days

The first Circuit /Terrorism decided, in the August 24th session, to renew the detention of Shadi Abu Zaid for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 1956 of 2019, State Security.

July 1 2020

The first Circuit /Terrorism, decided to postpone Shadi Abu Zaid’s renewal of detention session, in case No. 1956 of 2019, State Security, to the July 15 session, because the defendant could not be transferred from his prison.

Today, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew Shadi Abu Zaid’s detention for 15 days pending investigations into case no. 1956 of 2019, State Security, without his presence and without holding a session.

The last session in which Abu Zaid appeared before the prosecution was held on March 8, 2020, while the renewal took place in the following period on paper without his attendance and without holding the sessions.

It is noteworthy that the prosecution accused Abu Zaid with several accusations, including participating with a terrorist group, knowing its goals and objectives.
