The Fact Finding Committee established by AFTE’s Advisory Board announces the continuation of its investigative work with regards to administrative violations as well as incidents of violence. The outcome and results of the investigations will be announced in its final statement. The assignment was meant to end in August, but it is clear now that the committee needs more time to be able to hear everyone coming forward and reaching out to the committee and due to the limitations caused by Covid-19.

The Committee started its work on the 29th of July 2020 and it focused in the beginning on writing the Terms of Reference and the confidentiality clauses and forms to allow the complainants to decide on the information they want to share and the people they want to share it with. The committee then started receiving complaints through its email address that is written below. Since then and until the end of August, the committee conducted 13 investigations and meetings with 11 different persons and the complainants are given the choice to choose whether they would like to hold the investigation inside the Foundation or outside the Foundation or online.

The Committee will continue to receive complaints from current staff, previous staff as well people not associated with the Foundation but have complaints against someone who is currently or was previously affiliated to AFTE, hoping to end its work by the beginning of October. We, the members of the Committee, would like to emphasize that we adhere to the utmost confidentiality as stated in our Rules and Regulations.
