The third circuit (terrorism), held in the police secretary academy, decided last Sunday, 4 April 2021, to release “Bassem Abd Al-Salam” and replace pretrial detention with precautionary measures.

Bassem was held in detention of Case No. 585 of 2020, supreme state security, in which he was accused of joining and financing a terrorist group and spreading false news.

He was arrested from his house in Mokattam in February 2020, brought before public prosecution in May 2020, and was in pretrial detention for almost one year

The Third Circuit (Criminal/Terrorism) decided in the February 23 session to renew the detention of the graphic designer “Bassem Abd al-Salam ElShahawy” for 45 days pending investigations into Case No.585 of 2020 State Security, and he was accused of joining and financing a terrorist group, and spreading false news.
ElShahawy was arrested on February 3 of last year, 2020, from his house in Mokattam. and he presented to the Public Prosecution on May 13, 2020, and he remains in Remand Custody until now.
