On July 27, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Alaa Shafie for 45 days in connection with Case No. 2467 of 2021 (State Security).

Security forces arrested Shafie from his workplace in the 10th of Ramadan City. He was listed in two different cases, and after the court acquitted him, he appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution pending the current case on January 16, the prosecution charged him with joining a terrorist group.
