Today, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew release the journalist at El-Wafd newspaper Mohamed Gomaa in connection with Case No. 1436 of 2022 (State Security).
Salama was arrested after he posted a video on his Facebook profile about drug use inside Aman kiosks of the Ministry of Interior; later, on July 22, Salama appeared in a video clip published by the official page of the Ministry of Interior where he admitted he fabricated the video to gain a financial return. Salama faced charges of joining a terrorist, spreading false news, and using a social media account to commit a crime.

On the 2nd of August, The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of the journalist at El-Wafd newspaper Mohamed Gomaa Mubarak for 15 days, in connection with Case No. 1436 of 2022 (State Security).
