The Criminal Court (First Circuit) renewed the detention of Mohamed Ahmed Saad for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security), known in the media as “the Alliance of Hope lawsuit.” which included a large number of political activists, Although he didn’t participate in any political activity.

Saad exceeded the legal period of pretrial detention stipulated in the law, as he was arrested from inside the examination hall at the Faculty of Commerce at Al-Azhar University on May 17, 2019, he appeared before the Prosecution on July 1. Saad faces accusations of joining a terrorist group, financing this group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news.

The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) renewed the detention of Mohamed Ahmed Saad for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security), known in the media as “the Alliance of Hope lawsuit.” which included a large number of political activists, Although he didn’t participate in any political activity.

Criminal Court renews student Mohamed Ahmed Saad’s detention for 45 days despite exceeding the maximum period of pretrial detention

13 August 2023 

On August 13, the Criminal Court (Second Circuit) renewed the detention of student Mohamed Ahmed Saad for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security), known in the media as “the Alliance of Hope lawsuit.”

Security forces arrested Saad while he was taking an exam at the Faculty of Commerce, Al-Azhar University, on May 17, 2019, The renewal of Saad’s detention constitutes a violation of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which stipulates that the maximum period of pretrial detention is two years. Saad faces accusations of joining a terrorist group, financing this group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news.

23 May 2023 

On May 23, the Criminal Court (First Circuit) decided to renew the detention of student Mohamed Ahmed Saad for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 930 of 2019 ((Supreme State Security).

On May 17, 2019, Security forces arrested Saad from inside the exam room of the Faculty of Commerce, Al-Azhar University; he’s listed in this lawsuit known as the Hope Coalition case lawsuit, which included a number of political activists, although he was not involved in any political activity.

Saad appeared before the Prosecution in July of the same year; the prosecution accused him of joining a terrorist group, financing this group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news.

10 April 2023 “Criminal Court renews student Mohamed Ahmed Saad’s detention for 45 days despite exceeding 3 years in pretrial detention” 

On April 10, the Criminal Court (Second Circuit) decided to renew the detention of Mohamed Ahmed Saad for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).

Saad was arrested in May 2019 from Al-Azhar University; he was illegally detained till July when he was brought for interrogations before the prosecution against accusations of joining a terrorist group, financing this group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news.

On March 13 hearing, the Criminal Court (Second Terrorism Circuit) decided to renew the detention of student Mohamed Ahmed Saad, for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).

Security forces arrested Saad from the Faculty of Commerce, Al-Azhar University, on May 17, 2019, which necessitates his immediate release as he exceeded the legal period of pretrial detention stipulated in the Code of Criminal Procedure. Saad faces charges of joining a terrorist group, financing this group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news.

8 February 2023 “Criminal Court renews the detention of student Mohamed Ahmed Saad for 45 days” 

On February 8, the Criminal Court (Second Terrorism Circuit) decided to renew the detention of student Mohamed Ahmed Saad, for 45 days, pending investigations of case No. 930 of 2019 (Supreme State Security). 

The Supreme State Security Prosecution interrogated Saad for the first time in July 2019 and charged him with joining a terrorist group, financing this group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news.
