Pensioner Salah Elqadi released under guarantee of his place of residence after nearly one year in pretrial detention

The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release pensioner Salah Elsayed Elqadi under the guarantee of his place of residence, in connection with lawsuit No. 1691 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

Elqadi spent 11 months in pretrial detention; security forces arrested him on October 17, and he did not appear before the prosecution until October 31. After the interrogations, the prosecution accused him of joining a terrorist group, committing a terrorist financing crime, using a social media account to promote a terrorist act, participating in a criminal agreement intended to commit a terrorist crime, incitement to commit a terrorist crime, and spreading false news and information.


Criminal Court renews the detention of pensioner Salah Elqadi for 45 days

12 June 2023 

On the 12th of June, the Criminal Court (First Circuit) decided to renew the detention of pensioner Salah Elsayed Elqadi for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 1691 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution). 

Security forces arrested Elqadu from his house on October 17, and he appeared before the Prosecution after two weeks for interrogations, in which after he was accused of joining a terrorist group, committing a terrorist financing crime, using a social media account to promote a terrorist act, participating in a criminal agreement intended to commit a terrorist crime, incitement to commit a terrorist crime, and spreading false news and information.

6 May 2023 

On the 6th of May, the Criminal Court (First Circuit) decided to renew the detention of pensioner Salah Elsayed Elqadi for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 1691 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

28 March 2023 

On March 28, the Criminal Court (Third Circuit) decided to renew the detention of Salah Elsayed Elqadi for 45 days pending investigations of case No. 1691 of 2022 (Supreme State Security). 

It should be noted that Elqadi is a retired employee who was arrested on October 17 from his house. He faces accusations of joining a terrorist group, committing a terrorist financing crime, using a social media account to promote a terrorist act, participating in a criminal agreement intended to commit a terrorist crime, incitement to commit a terrorist crime, and spreading false news and information.
