On the hearing of May the 3rd; the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Mohsen Mohamed Gamal for 15 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 585 of 2020. 

On the evening of April 11, security forces stormed the 51-year-old Gamal’s house, arrested him, and confiscated his mobile phone, according to Gamal’s statements before the Prosecution. He was interrogated regarding Facebook posts about price hikes, illegally detained for eight days, until he was brought before the Public Prosecution office. Which accused him of joining a terrorist group and financing it, and spreading false news and statements.
