After criticizing the current political regime, The Criminal Court renewed the detention of the 67 years old doctor Hany Soliman for 45 days

The Criminal Court (Third Circuit) decided to renew the detention of Doctor Hany Soliman for 45 days pending investigations of lawsuit No. 508 of 2023 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

Security forces arrested Soliman, the former marketing director at Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company, on March 27 from his house after he published several posts on Facebook criticizing the current political regime. The prosecution interrogated him about these posts, and Soliman admitted his ownership of the publishing account and that he was expressing his political views.

The investigation authorities accused Soliman of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using a social media account to spread the false news.

Supreme State Security Prosecution renews Dr. Hany Soliman’s detention for 15 days against opinion articles

26 July 2023 

On the hearing of July 26th, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of doctor Hany Soliman, the former marketing manager at Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company, for 15 days pending investigations of case No. 508 of 2023 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

The 67 years old Soliman was arrested on March 27 from his house against the grounds of publishing opinion articles on his Facebook profile, where he expresses his political opinions. After the interrogations, the Supreme State Security Prosecution accused Soliman of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using a social media account to spread the false news.
