Criminal Court orders to renew the precautionary measures of Islam Ali Mohamed

Wednesday, November 3, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to renew precautionary measures imposed on Islam Ali Mohamed, for 45 days pending Case No. 1898 of 2019 Supreme State Security.

The precautionary measures are to hand the defendant himself over to the police station in his neighborhood twice a week for three hours.

The defendant was arrested and presented before the prosecution in January 2020, and the investigations charged him with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media websites.

26 September 2021 

Sunday, September 26, 2021, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) issued a decision to release “Islam Ali Muhammed,” pending Case No. 1898 of 2019 Supreme State Security.

The decision to release the defendant came with a complementary and alternative sentence of pretrial detention which is precautionary measures, through obligating the defendant to present himself before the police headquarters assigned to his place of residence at specific times of the week, according to Article (201) of Law No. 150 of 1950 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

This article also defines the forms of precautionary measures. They’re either compel the defendant not to leave his home or country, obligate the defendant to present himself before the police headquarters at specific times weekly, or ban the defendant from frequenting particular places.

12 July 2021

The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court considered the detention order of “Islam Ali Muhammed”, and ordered to renew his detention for 45 extra days, this came pending Case No. 1898 of 2019 Supreme State Security, The mentioned court considered the order to renew the defendant detention on Monday, July 12, 2021, in the presence of AFTE’s lawyer.

The investigations charged him with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing a social media website.

5 July 2021 

The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court had decided in Monday’s session July 5, 2021,  held at Institue of Police Secretaries, to renew the detention of “Islam Ali Muhammed” for 45 days pending Case No. 1898 of 2019 Supreme State Security.

15 June 2021

The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court, held at Institue of Police Secretaries in Tura, had decided at its Tuesday’s session, June 15, 2021, to renew the detention of “Islam Ali Muhammed” for 45 days pending Case No. 1898 of 2019, Supreme State Security, and also to extend the precautionary measures for “Mohamed Abdel Monem Abdullatif” pending the same case.
