After 16 months in pretrial detention, the Socialist Popular Alliance Party member Wessam Salah was released under the guarantee of his place of residence

20 May 2023 

On May 20; the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release the Alexandrian political activist, Wessam Salah, under the guarantee of his place of residence, pending lawsuit No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

Security forces arrested Salah from his house on January 20 of last year, and he was forcibly disappeared for nearly two months before appearing before the Public Prosecution on March 14 of the same year. Salah faced charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news and information.

8 May 2023 

On May 8, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Wessam Salah, for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

The 42 years old Salah, a father of two children, was arrested from his house in Alexandria in January 2022 Because of his political activity, he was forcibly disappeared for nearly two months before appearing before the Prosecution which accused him of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news and information.

28 March 2023 “Criminal Court renews Socialist Popular Alliance Party member Wessam Salah’s detention for 45 days” 

On March 28, the Criminal Court (Third Circuit) decided to renew the detention of the member of Socialist Popular Alliance Party, Wessam Salah, for 45 days, pending investigations into case No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

Salah was arrested on January 20, 2022, and forcibly disappeared for nearly two months until he appeared before the prosecution on charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news and information. 

21 February 2023

On February 21st hearing, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Wessam Salah for 45 days pending investigations of case No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution). The hearing was held at Badr Court. 

On January 20, 2022, police forces arrested Salah, the member of the Socialist Popular Alliance Party in Alexandria, from his house; he was illegally detained till March 14 of the same year. Salah is accused of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news and information.

9 January 2023 

On the hearing of January 9, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of the member of Socialist Popular Alliance Party, Wessam Salah, for 45 days, pending investigations into case No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

A security force arrested Salah last year on January 22 from his house in Sidi Bishr, Alexandria governorate; later, on March 14, he appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution. After the interrogations, he was charged with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news and information.

Several Socialist Popular Alliance Party members urged the Egyptian authorities to release Wessam Salah and all prisoners of conscience and to bring Salah together with his children. 

27 November 2022 “Criminal Court renews Wessam Salah’s detention for 45 days” 

On November 27, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Wessam Salah for 45 days in connection with investigations of case No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

A security force arrested Salah from his house in Alexandria on January 20th. After the interrogations, the investigations authorities charged him with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread the false news and information. 

28 August 2022 

On August 28, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Wessam Salah, for 45 days in connection with Case No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

Security forces arrested Salah on January 20 from his house in Sidi Bishr in Alexandria governorate; he was illegally detained till he appeared before the prosecution pending the current case, against charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using a social media account to spread the false news and statements.

24 July 2022 “Criminal Court renews the pretrial detention of Wessam Salah for 45 days” 

On July 24, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Wessam Salah, for 45 days in connection with Case No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution). The hearing was held at the Police Secretaries Institute in Tura.

 

A security force arrested Salah on January 20 of the current year, he didn’t appear before the Supreme State Security Prosecution till March 14, after being investigated; the prosecution decided to charge him with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using a social media account to spread the false news and statements.

 

6 July 2022 “Supreme State Security Prosecution renews Wessam Salah’s detention for 15 days” 

On July 6, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Wessam Salah for 15 days in connection with Case No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

On January 20, Security forces arrested Salah from his house in Sidi Bishr in Alexandria governorate, he was illegally detained  till he appeared before the prosecution, which in turn charged him with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using a social media account to spread the false news and statements.

26 June 2022

On June 26,  the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Wessam Salah for 15 days in connection with Case No. 93 of 2022 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

Salah was arrested from his house in Sidi Bishr in Alexandria governorate on January 20; he appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution for the first time on March 14; he faces charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using a social media account to spread the false news and statements.
