On January 1, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release Mohamed Ragab Abdel Maged and the two brothers, Asharaf and Ahmed Ashry, under the guarantee of their residency place, pending case No. 440 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).

The two brothers were arrested on July 12 from a coffee shop near their house in Alexandria after they posted a video on TikTok simulating a scene from a TV series. The three defendants faced charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

4 October 2022 

On October 3, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Ahmed Ashry, and on October 4, the prosecution also decided to renew the detention of his brother, lawyer Ashraf Ashry for 15 days, in connection with case No. 440 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).

20 September 2022 

On September 19, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Ahmed Ashry, and on September 20, the prosecution also decided to renew the detention of his brother, lawyer Ashraf Ashry for 15 days, in connection with case No. 440 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).

6 September 2022 “Supreme State Security Prosecution renews the detention of two brothers Asharaf and Ahmed Ashry for 15 days” 

Today, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of the two brothers, Ashraf and Ahmed Ashry, for 15 days in connection with investigations of case No. 440 of 2022 (Supreme State Security). 

The two brothers were arrested on July 12, from a cafe nearby their house in Alexandria, against the backdrop of simulating a video on Tiktok. Both of them face charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

22 August 2022

Today, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Ashraf Ashry Elsayed and Ahmed Ashry Elsayed for 15 days in connection with Case No. 440 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).

Ashraf and Ahmed were arrested on July 12, against the backdrop of simulating a video on Tiktok. They both face charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

8 August 2022

On August 8, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Ahmed Ashry Elsayed for 15 days in connection with Case No. 440 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).

It should be noted that Ahmed Ashry is lawyer Ashraf Ashry’s brother, who’s also listed in the same case, the security forces arrested the two brothers on July 12, against the backdrop of simulating a video on Tiktok.

 Ashry faces charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

26 July 2022 “Supreme State Security Prosecution renews Ashraf Ashry’s pretrial detention for 15 days” 

On July 26, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of lawyer Ashraf Ashry, for 15 days, in connection with Case No. 440 of 2022 (Supreme State Security). 

the Supreme State Security Prosecution investigated Ashry for the first time on 17 July, the 29 years old is facing charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news. 

 

17 July 2022 “The Supreme State Security Prosecution detains Ashraf Ashry for 15 days” 

On July 17, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to detain Ashraf Ashry for 15 days, in connection with Case No. 440 of 2022 (Supreme State Security).

The prosecution charged Ashry – 29 years old, works as a lawyer and a microbus driver – with joining a terrorist group, and spreading false news.
