The Criminal Court (Second Circuit Terrorism) renewed Mohamed Magdy Abdel Fattah’s detention for 45 days pending investigations in case No. 3434 of the 2024 Supreme State Security Prosecution.

Abdel Fattah faces charges of joining a terrorist group with prior knowledge of its objectives and spreading false news and information.

He was arrested on July 11, 2024, from his workplace at the General Petroleum Company in Ras Gharib and was interrogated on July 15 by the Supreme State Security Prosecution over videos he posted on Facebook discussing economic conditions.
