Notably, Moussa’s defense submitted a request to appeal his detention order to the Criminal Court, but the court rejected the request and upheld the decision to renew his detention.

Moussa was arrested at the beginning of October 19; he appeared before the prosecution on November 18 of the same year. The prosecution charged him with several accusations, including joining a terrorist group, committing a financing crime, spreading false news, and misusing a social media website.

The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) renewed the precautionary measures of Mohammad Abd-Ellah Mokhaimer for 45 days in connection with Case No. 1956 of 2019 (Supreme State Security).

The precautionary measure imposed on Mokhaimer is to hand himself over to the police station of his residence for a certain number of hours weekly, this came after the court’s decision to replace his pretrial detention with one of the precautionary measures.

Security forces arrested Mokhaimer in the first week of January 2020 to appear before the prosecution one month later in connection with the case mentioned above with charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.

The Criminal Court (the 5th Circuit terrorism) decided to replace the pretrial detention of Ebrahim Ahmed Abdel-Samie with precautionary measures, in connection with Case No. 1057 of 2020 (State Security).

Abdel-Samie was arrested from his workplace in Mo’men restaurant located in Bab El-Louk area against the backdrop of September 2019 events. He was first listed in Case 1338 of 2019 (State Security) until a decision to release him was issued on November 3, 2020. However, the decision didn’t pass. Thus he was rotated in the current case on a charge of joining a terrorist group.
