The Cairo Criminal Court (Second Criminal Circuit) has Adjourned the trial of Osama Abu Al-Hassan Hegazy, 53, an employee at Egypt Links Telecommunications Services, to March 11, 2026, to hear the prosecution’s closing arguments in Case No. 14739 of 2024, Fifth Settlement Felonies, registered under No. 3344 of 2024, New Cairo Misdemeanors, and recorded under No. 965 of 2021, State Security Prosecution.

Hegazy, along with other defendants, was referred to criminal trial by the State Security Prosecution on December 29, 2024, facing charges of joining a terrorist group while being aware of its objectives.

The court had initially scheduled the first session for June 21, 2025, but adjourned  it to August 24, 2025, due to the absence of some detained defendants. The August 24 session saw the court review the indictment, which the defendants denied, and the defense requested a delay to examine prosecution witnesses. The court subsequently postponed the session to October 26, 2025, to begin witness confrontations.

During the October 26 session, prosecution witnesses appeared and were questioned by both the court and the defense. The court had initially set the next session for January 14, 2026, to hear the prosecution’s arguments, but it has now been adjourned again to March 11.
