Criminal Court renews lawyer Saied Ali’s detention for 45 days

The Criminal Court (First Circuit) renewed lawyer Saied Hassan Ali’s detention for 45 days pending investigations of lawsuit No. 238 of 2021 (Supreme State Security).

The Supreme State Security Prosecution investigated Ali in this lawsuit after his release from another. The lawyer and human rights defender faces accusations of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

23 September 2023 

The Criminal Court (Second Circuit) renewed lawyer Saied Hassan Ali’s detention for 45 days pending investigations of lawsuit No. 238 of 2021 (Supreme State Security).

The Supreme State Security Prosecution investigated Ali in this lawsuit after his release from another. The lawyer and human rights defender faces accusations of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.


After his release in another lawsuit, Criminal Court renewed lawyer Saied Ali’s detention for 45 days

12 August 2023 

On August 12, the Criminal Court (Second Circuit) decided to renew the detention of lawyer Saied Hassan Ali for 45 days pending investigations of lawsuit No. 238 of 2021 (Supreme State Security).

It’s noteworthy that Saied appeared before the Supreme State Security pending this lawsuit after on July 7, 2021, after his release from another. The investigation authorities accused Saied of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

22 May 2023 

On May 22, Cairo Criminal Court (First Circuit) decided to renew the detention of lawyer Saied Hassan Ali for 45 days pending investigations of lawsuit No. 238 of 2021 (Supreme State Security). 

Ali was convicted in this lawsuit after his release in another lawsuit, as the Supreme State Security Prosecution interrogated him on July 7, 2021, and accused him of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.
