The Criminal Court (Second Circuit) renewed the detention of Alaa Mansour Seif Elnasr for 45 days pending investigations of lawsuit No. 955 of 2020 (Supreme State Security), in which Seif Elnasr is accused of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information domestically and abroad to harm public security and order and using a social media account to spread the false news and information.

Notably, security forces arrested Seif Elnasr from his house on September 12, 2020, based on an arrest warrant issued against him by the Public Prosecution, but the security forces detained him in an unknown location without legal basis for over a month before presenting him before the investigation authorities.
