State Judiciary Authority scheduled November 25, to consider the appeal of Helwan University Student Tasneem Mohamed Okasha against the decision to suspend her for an academic semester.

The university administration, particularly its president and its Art School dean, suspended Okasha because of her participation in demonstrations against ceding Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia in 2016.

On April 2018, The Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression appealed the decision to the Administrative Court which referred the case to State Judiciary Authority.
