Cairo Criminal Court has sentenced activist Ahmed Douma to 15 years of aggravate imprisonment and a fine of EGP 6 million (USD 33,4243) in the case that is known as the Cabinet Clashes.
The vocal activist is being tried on the background of participating in clashes that took place in December 2011 objecting to appointing Mubarak’s era Head of Cabinet kamal El Gargni as a Prime Minister after the former was toppled.
Douma is accused of crowding, burning the first floor of the Parliament building, and the illegal use of force. He was already sentenced to lifelong prison and over EGP 17.5 million fine for the damage he caused.
The lawsuit is registered with number 8629/2011 Sayeda Zainab/Criminal, and recorded with number 3528/2011 General/ Downtown Cairo.

Cairo Criminal Court is to announce the verdict of activist Ahmed Doma’s retrial on January 9, 2019.

Cairo Criminal Court has postponed the retrial of the activist Ahmed Doma in the “Cabinet Clashes” case to November 1, to listen to the pleading and review medical reports of the attacked civil servants.

Cairo Criminal Court has adjourned the retrial of the activist Ahmed Doma in Council of Ministers’ Incidents case to 18th of February to view the Compact Discs of Alhakika TV show episode. The episode featured the accused, hosted by the TV presenter Wael Al-Ibrashy and was showcased on Dream network. Douma is accused of crowding, burning the first floor of the Parliament building and using excessive force.
