Criminal Court orders to extend the precautionary measures of “Hossam El-Saadany” for 45 days

Sunday, October 10, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) considered the precautionary measures imposed on “Hossam El-Saadany” and ordered to extend it for 45 days.

Last July, The Court decided to release “El-Saadany” in Case No. 535 of 2020 Supreme State Security Prosecution, with one form of the precautionary measures stipulated in Article (201) of Law No. 150 of 1950 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, represented in handing himself over to the police station in his neighborhood two days per week for three hours.

On March 25, 2020, “El-saadany” was arrested from his house in Alexandria, and he was subjected to unlawfully detention till he appeared before the Prosecution on Monday, April 6. with charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news and statements.

The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to extend the precautionary measures imposed on “Hossam El-Saadany” for 45 days, The session was held on Monday, September 6, 2021.

Last July, The Court decided to release “El-Saadany” in Case No. 535 of 2020 Supreme State Security Prosecution, with precautionary measures represented in going to the police station two days per week for three hours.

It should be noted that Article (201) of Law No. 150 of 1950 of the Code of Criminal Procedure stipulates that “the authority concerned with pretrial detention may issue instead of it, an order with one of the following measures: compel the defendant not to leave his home or country, obligate the defendants to present himself before the police headquarters at specific times, or banning the defendant from frequenting specific places, if the defendant violated the obligations imposed by the measure, he shall be remanded in pretrial detention.

“El-Saadany” was arrested from his house in Alexandria, on March 25, 2020, and he was unlawfully detained till he was brought before the prosecution on Monday, April 6, and he was held in pretrial detention till his release order was issued.

The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided, in the January 17 session, to detain Abdu Fayed and Hossam El-Din Hassan Mohamed Elsadany, for 45 days in case no. 535 of 2020, Supreme State Security, on charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news and information.

The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided, today  May 31, to detain researcher Abdu Fayed, for 15 days in case no. 535 of 2020, Supreme State Security, on charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and information, and using a social media account to spread false news and information.

Fayed was arrested from his home in El Haram on May 25, 2020, and was detained for 6 days, until he appeared before the prosecution today.
