The Prosecution’s appeal against the decision to release Emad El-Sayed Ali Radwan dismissed

Today, Basatin misdemeanor courts decided to dismiss the appeal filed by the Public Prosecution against Qasr Al-Nil opposition judge’s decision to release Emad El-Sayed Ali Radwan, the Court upheld the decision to release him under the guarantee of his place of residence, into Case No. 599 of 2020 (Qasr Al-Nil Misdemeanors).

Police forces arrested Radwan from Tahrir Square on January 28, 2022, to appear the next day before Qasr Al-Nil Prosecution, accused of the aforementioned case. Radwan faces charges of promoting a terrorist act through social networks.

28 February 2022 

Today, Qasr Al-Nil opposition judge decided to release Emad El-Sayed Ali Radwan under the guarantee of his residence pending investigations of Case No. 599 of 2020 (Qasr Al-Nil Misdemeanors). Qasr Al-Nil’s Prosecution also decided to appeal against the decision; The appeal shall be reviewed at tomorrow’s hearing.

Earlier, Al-Darb Al-Ahmar Appeal Misdemeanors Court decided to dismiss the appeal filed by the defense panel of Emad El-Sayed Ali Radwan and upheld the decision to detain him for 15 days. Police forces arrested Radwan from Tahrir Square on January 28, 2022, and Radwan faces charges of promoting a terrorist act through social networks.

24 February 2022 

Today, Al-Darb Al-Ahmar Appeal Misdemeanors Court decided to dismiss the appeal filed by the defense panel of Emad El-Sayed Ali Radwan, and upheld the decision issued by Qasr Al-Nil opposition judge to detain him for 15 days, on February 14. This comes into investigations of Case No. 599 of 2020 (Qasr Al-Nil Misdemeanors).
