On October 16, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release both Mohamed Ashraf and Ismael Abou Zeid, under the guarantee of their place of residence, in connection with Case No. 41 of 2022 (State Security).

 

Security forces arrested Ashraf (20 years old) and Abou Zeid (21 years old) against the backdrop of posting a sarcastic video on Tiktok. They faced charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and inciting a terrorist act.

12 June 2022 “Supreme State Security Prosecution renews the detention of Mohamed Ashraf and Ismael Abou Zeid for 15 days” 

Yesterday, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of Mohamed Ashraf -20 years- and Ismael Abou Zeid -21 years- for 15 days in connection with Case No. 41 of 2022 (State Security).

Both Ashraf and Abou Zeid were arrested on April 11, against the backdrop of posting a sarcastic video on Tiktok of children throwing water bags on the passengers of Port Said streets during Ramadan.

 The Supreme State Security Prosecution investigated them for the first time on April 14 and charged them with joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and inciting a terrorist act.
